This doesn't surprise me and it doesn't worry me.. many vendors (Dell chiefly) already use Vista exclusively on their new machines. A machine built for vista, have it 64 megs of video memory or 256, and 512-1 gig of ram, runs the OS beautifully. I can't speak for some cheap retailer somewhere, but a new computer from compusa or best buy with vista preloaded on it, on hard ware made for vista , is a good product. Apple turns around a new os every year and a half because they're releasing what would in a windows world amount to (free) service packs. Granted however, that OSx moves in a clear, positive direction each time while windows is more patches and updates. The core however stays the same. I'd rather vista stay with us for the next 7 years in one- or two-year interval service pack upgrades which add improved functionality and better performance. Why not, when we've all lasted so well on XP?

If this causes even a ripple, i'd be shocked. Myspace doesn't seem overly concerned on protecting its users, in my opinion. Full-time vista on both my desktop and laptop, and my media box should be home premium by the end of the week. Desktop is 64bit with an nvidia 7300 and audigy 2. Nvidia doesnt have its final drives out yet but the system performs well and i'm not slowed down in adobe or macromedia apps, even with large files.
