What I'm talking about is not so much what element like what window widget it's missing which there are some and I'm sure you are working on fixing that but it's about the new visual technologies that Vista brings that thus far it doesn't look like WB is making any use of. Look at Aero how it is one unified piece of glass for the toolbar and the titlebar. In WB people have faked it by making an extremely large titlebar but that's not the same and is unwieldy and nonfunctional. All beca

I have been a long time supporter of Stardock and Windowblinds. However.. in the past graphically Windowblinds could always do much more than anything included with the OS. I know this may change in the future but right now the screenshots are looking like XP warmed over. I would like to see a WB that has the unified transparency areas amongst other thing in Vista. I think I remember someone saying that might be in WB6 or something. However it still doesn't stop me from not liking the current st

You really ought to pick your battles better if you are talking to me. You are preaching to the quoir I'm posting from my primary computer which is a Mac. I don't care who copied who either way if they did or not. Companies do that sometimes, get over it.

He complains because you can't read the window beneath a transparent titlebar but if it wasn't blurred he'd complain even more because it'd be even more chaotic to pick out the text of the top window. He's just looking for something to complain about and he used to be the biggest MS cheerleader. I myself think the frosted glass look is a good idea for a transparent titlebar. That being said I now mostly use a Mac so I'm no MS cheerleader I just am a co

Woodbridge: The shadows on Mac OS X aren't hard coded. They are based on the shape of the window and can be modified with a program (windowshadeX) or they can be shut off. As a matter of fact I have had OS X add shadows to animated gif's floating on the desktop using a program called "desktopfun". Yes, I have a Mac. Anyway this will be great even if just to make the edges of WB skins antialiased. Any skin that has non squared edges can

Instead of them being random or just for shell windows I'd like to be able to specify which windows (by window class in the uis file) the extra borders would go on. Another thing that would be nice that in addition to borders you'd be able to specify a different window bg\toolbar bg so for example if you wanted to make another window border that has a different texture than your normal one and have it blend into the window you can. Like for th

That actually reminds me of the time I was given a hard time by a prominent commercial skin artist (who shall go nameless) because a skin I made wasn't skinning the favorites menu in IE but at the time WB didn't have that capability, so I couldn't have done it anyway even if I wanted to. Thinking back I'm pretty sure that person was just making WMP\mp3 player skins at that time but I am not totally sure, seems like it when you consider how they didn't

That's your perogative and I respect that, but you also got to respect a persons perogative not to include a light version for whatever reason. That's just an example anyway, there are many hundreds of things that people could demand.

Well that's the thing GreenReaper, I don't expect everyone to like anything that I might make simply because you can't please all of the people all of the time. Now, if it's a bug report then that is a nice thing to have. But if you want variety and to be able to truly take advantage of the software's capablities you need to have skins that take advantage of the skins software and not be all the same including layout. I don't expect for my stuf

I make skins here for fun and to improve my desktop experience . Not out of obligation to strangers on the net. Let me rephrase that.... In other words, when making a skin I have a certain layout in mind I truly consider the layout to be an integral part of the skin as a whole. In the past I have concidered changing my skins to please everyone but in the end it just created a huge amount of work to be done when a skin needs to be upd

Nighttrain if you read the previous messages I made you would see I tried the fake ways and they are not satisfactory to me. I'll just wait until the feature gets put in. The programmer of WB just answered and said it was going in. Thanks anyway. [Message Edited]

Only thing is is that it's a feature other systems have such as MacOSX so it's not just windows style to do it. Hopefully someday WB will have it too. I was really hoping that since Frogboy said there are many visibility settings for the titlebar buttons that he meant that it was put in. But I know now that I have to wait longer. Hopefully not too much longer. No offense or anything but I don't think that la

Chas, I never said that I wanted it to show the close button when there is no close button. That's already what it does. I want it to show a close button if there is one, show a disabled one if there is a disabled one such as in Quake 3, or no button if the window doesn't have buttons such as in the screenshot I showed. Didn't work is probably not the right term to say it's more like, not doing the effect I'm going for. But it seems that no matter how much I explain that hardly anyone in this th

ChasUGC you've got things backwards. No the third window in the shot in message #25 wasn't styleXP. I don't use StyleXP or MS Styles (same thing) StyleXP is just a in memory uxtheme hacker isntead of on disk. It is Windowblinds, as you can see the buttons are on the left which is impossible on MS Styles\StyleXP. Which in that case it seems that WB is the one not going the legal route by forcing those types of windows to have close buttons. However when you click close on that type of window it a

No, in the image there is normal, pressed, disabled\mousover and the same for out of focus and I don't want to get rid of the mousover image or the out of focus image. And since WB forces a window to have a close button even if it doesn't have one no disabled state shows up anywya. Face it, there are no alternatives that work the way I want it to. [Message Edited]

Yes there is CerebroJD and I showed you an example. If you are STILL unclear then there is no clearing things up for you, sorry. Here's the image again (top classic, middle visual styles, bottom WB) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v447/Adia06/closebuttonstuff.jpg I.R. I only asked the question because I *tried* the alternatives (which don't work the way I want them to especially just leaving it as it is (always visible)) like I said and I came here as a last resort to find o
