Why do I still love this game? I completely agree with bonscott. Alliance and tech wins can be easily achieved by just producing a massive fleet of corvettes, dwarfing anybody elses military ranking. With this high of a military ranking, the other races of your alignment naturally gravitate towards close, ie. alliance friendly relations. Thanks Packer, didn't notice that before. The player I was refering to specifically fully admitted to doing it in that forum and I can't blame him. Heck if I had my save games from those past 1.044 games I might do it too. Sigh:( , what a bloody mess this all is....perhaps we would all be better off deleting all posts with the words metaverse scoring from the forum and wash our hands of it. This is just a game right...we don't get any special prizes for being tops in the metaverse?
I just noticed that a few players had retroactively upgraded their 1.044 metaverse scores to 1.05 version scores, which has obviously drastically affected their overall scores. Is this kosher? I realize this was given the ok for games that were submitted last week under the new 1.05 patch which had problems but I see some games that have been ssubmitted 6/2/03 under v. 1.05 I can't imagine what this is, other than someone reloading those 1.044 games under v. 1.05 and then resubmitti

Thanks Brad. I would like to mention though that I tried to load the automatic endgame save and after loading the game just sat there. I tried to hit the turn button but it just turned into the clock face and stuck. Anybody else have this happen?
Just got bit by the 1.044/1.05 bug myself. Looking forward to a sweet 15000 score and smacked in the face with 1000.... :p As is the case with Staffa, submitting with pre-gov 1.05 patch worked fine, while the gov patch for version 1.05 seems to have caused the prob. [Message Edited]
Just a simple question here. Is it possible to patch an existing 1.044 game up to 1.05 without problems? Disregarding the whole gov issue which sounds like it will be fixed today.
