I'd say I'm surprised the AI did so well on Normal (without bonuses), but I've noticed a clear improvement in AI at 1.3. Also, it's totally doable. You start with 2 colonies (home + colony ship), you have enough money to rush buy 3-4 colony ships and some improvements on your homeworld, and there's plenty of time in the next 20 turns to build a couple more. Not sure either. I've only seen this in one game. and I did two things that could have caused it. One was exactly what you did, trade then go to war right after (not sure what the time limit on that is though, so maybe you traded with them a few turns earlier and forgot, but it still counts as "You know what you did...?). The only other thing I could attribute it to was that I stacked a bunch of fleets in their territory prior to DOW. Just thought of a third, unlikely possibility: attacki

I'll try to add screenshots of Faction, Economic and Military power timelines for easy reference. You'll see that a few factions start spiking randomly (increasing A LOT over quite a few turns), and then after they pass me all of a sudden my rating drops like a stone (there your explanation seems plausible since it seems to drop from one turn to the next, although
Hello, I was playing an insane map on Godlike with a custom faction (Thalan-based) vs all other factions and minor civs. I added a link to the saved games (at different # of turns for the same game). Apologies, it was started in v1.1 I believe, takes a while to win by ascension on insane... I noticed that partway through the game, the military power ratings under Govern - Timeline were going nuts, which carried the faction power ratings along with. BTW, I think that faction power is c
