@ Citizen4D - There was something similar to that for Baldur's Gate II. When you installed a mod, you did it thru a front end, it took care of backing up the original files & such, when you wanted to play a normal game, you could revert it & the mod files would go to another folder so you could play the mod again when you wanted to. Modding BG2 was a lot harder that GalCIv.... ~SDC~

I'd like more mechanics to go into things like StarBase modules, United Planets issues, etc. I'd like to be able to do things like have StarBases add PQ or morale to a sector, or make an anomoly have a different result depending on your alignment. This game is already extremely moddable, but I think it could be sooo much more. ~SDC~
I got to log on /. and give props to Brad then.... ~SDC~
Can't wait till the ship & tech editors are done. ~SDC~
GoGamer.com (www.gogamer.com) has MOO3 for $19 for the next 48 hours or so. That's where I got my boxed copy of GalCIV as well ($30) ~SDC~
Don't feel bad, in the game I'm playing, the I-League has the Drengin down to one planet, and have the Torians asking me for assistance for the war effort. Too bad they are huge trading partners. ~SDC~
It's probably your trade income fluctuating. It does that. ~SDC~
I take that back, there isn't a way to affect PQ with SB modules. At least not thru GalCiv Writer. ~SDC~
Maybe it's just to trick people into not using a lot of them for cheese tactics. I.e. surrounding resources & good planets before you can reach them with colony ships. ~SDC~
As long as your morale stays above 50% you'll be fine. In the early game crank your military spending all the way up to push out colony ships to grab as many planets as you can. ~SDC~
i.e. StarBase Govenors ~SDC~
New UP issue-types. ~SDC~
I just made my first SB Module, no problems with the program. It will be under ships in the library if an one wants to try it out. @ H-50: Do you think you can work on the ship editor after you finish up the tech editor? Speaking of which, I'm thinking of recreating a lot of the techs in Alien Crossfire for GalCiv do you think Firaxis would have a problem with that? ~SDC~
You can already do this with GalCiv Writer. Well at least the latest beta. ~SDC~
^^^^^^^^^^^^ mind = mined ~SDC~
Sure but resource StarBases should pay for themselves. I'm asuming the resouces mind do get sold at one point. Even better, make it so different Political Systems handle StarBase maintenace differently. ~SDC~
Atari had a hand in UT2k3 as well. ~SDC~
@ KrazyKrok Right click on the file you want in StarDock & hit Download & Archive. It puts it in a temp file in SDC's directory. ~SDC~
This really should be in the game you know, to go along with the Restaraunt. It could get you anywhere in the map in one turn, but you'd have to jump around the map a couple of times first. And of course it could always screw up..... ~SDC~
I sent you both, hope this gets worked out soon. ~SDC~
Ah, well just so you know, that save still crashes in GalCiv 1.03a.057 .cra file Stardock SmartException Logging Information ------------------------------------------- OS Version : Windows 2000 Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 Application Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION Crash Addr: 004862FF 01:000852FF C:\Games\Galactic Civilizations\galciv.exe Processor Registers (x86): EAX:0AD3E9D0 EBX:00155228 ECX:00000000 EDX:
Damn, I like strategy games because I can make one game last a week or so.... ~SDC~
Looks like the same thing that's happening to me (Giagantic Map, Tight Clusters, Easy), except I'm playing on 1.03.54 & I get a CTD right after I hit done on the final planet upkeep screen. ~SDC~
What, you get the stuff he can't figure out? ;) ~SDC~
Sounds like a good idea to me. ~SDC~
