Hmmm, have you tried a re-install? Like full unistalland delete everything, reinstall and patch befopre booting? Reason I ask is during the beta, this fixed problems like that for me several times.

Do you have FSAA enabled in the options or force on in your control panel? That may be messing it up.

I've had Bill Clinton take Hillary as a running mate. In 50+ games though I've never had the AI take itself as a running mate.
