1. How do you transfer population from one colony to another? I tried loading a colony ship with 500 colonists, moving to the destination colony and then decreasing the number of colonists from 500 to 1 and then relaunching the colony ship. The colony ship launched with 1 colonist, but the other 499 did not seem to be added to the colony's population total. 2. Also, I tried moving one of my combat ships onto an enemy planet and was unable

But doesn't this system force you to micromanage if you don't want to waste money? Set Social to 0% and leave it there the entire game. Then, on a colony by colony basis, turn Social to 100% (or whatever you like) when you are actually building a colony project, then turn Social to 0% when the colony is finished with the project. Cool, thanks. I didn't know that the Abilities would show bonuses created/granted after the game started, such as empire wide Starbase bonuses. I thought it was just the racial abilities you stared the game with.
Is there a screen that lists empire wide bonuses with their source (i.e. from Starbases, racial traits, ...)? It would be nice if empire wide starbase bonuses were listed under the Starbase Bonus section of the planet detail screen with a (empire wide) after it. Something like, "Morale 5% (empire wide)".
Cool, thanks. Now we just need the Random AI opponent thrown in and we can have random 1 on 1 non-diplomacy, straight wargame, gorefests if we want
bump - so many posts here this one got lost in the shuffle.
In one of Brad's recent gameplay examples, he plays on a Total War map against the Drengin and they are at "Permanent War". I didn't see the "Permanent War" option in the game setup. Is there a way to setup a game with say, a small map against 1 AI and be at "Permanent War". I'm thinking this would solve the problem of the AIs trading all their techs to each other at the Intelligent level. Or maybe if you just pick one AI as an opponent, it automatically defaults to "Perm
When you start a game you have to explicitly select your opponents. Is there a way to select, say 5 random Intelligent opponents? damn, double post. I wasn't sure the fist one went through.
