cpbeller: the multimedia downloads are just the in-game cutscenes and whatnot. If you have the retail version, you already have all of it. Apologies if any of these have been mentioned before, but I don't want to read 6 pages of posts just to avoid redundancy (suggestions based on one complete game): - make the sliders for military/social/research production lockable, to make precise adjustments easier. - tone down random events, and possibly even make them entirely optional. May I suggest using the direct download option they made available last night? My SDC speed were atrocious as well (on a T1), but I got the whole installer in about 15 minutes (at ~550kb/s) this morning. - Ash

trvthseeker: my DL speed through SDC was pathetic as well. May I recommend that you try the direct download link? SDC was giving me about 4kb/s as well (on a university T1, no less), but the direct download, using Gozilla, ran at ~550kb/s. I got all 465MB of the installer in about 12 minutes. To the devs and other official-type people: I STRONGLY recommend that you consider making future updates available for direct download as well as through SDC. I don't know what's wrong with SDC

The whole damn thing in under 15 minutes. My thanks, Frogboy, to you and anyone/everyone else involved in getting that file up there, and my apologies for my earlier pestering. The speed of that DL more than made up for the wait. I hope you'll consider making future updates available this way, as well. For me, at least, this was much, much easier. :) - Ash

Frogboy -- I'm new around here, but I have to say "thank you" for the dedication I can already see you demonstrating on this board. I'm also having problems with downloading GalCiv through SDC, but I won't bother you with specifics since it's already been addressed. The one big file you're currently uploading should make my life a lot easier. Again, thanks. More game developers should treat their customers the way you do. - Ash
