Yeah, Windows Defender is okay, but sometimes that can be a pain in the butt, at least for me it can. Thanks for the reply... [e classic]:congrat:[/e] [e classic]:hot:[/e]

Yeah, that flagged something else as malicious too. I think it was a language file for Media Player Classic (64-bit). I sent IObit a false positive report on the file in question & they agreed to add that file to a future database update so it won't be detected anymore. I think maybe they're paranoid or something about that "lights32.dll" file for some reason because it shows up on Virus Total. [e digicons]:omg:[/e] I humored myself though & recontacted them about that file anyhow...
I did get it from Stardock. I just added the file(s) to my whitelist. Thanks... [e classic]:hot:[/e]
Hello, I believe it should be safe if you get those files directly from Stardock, Anyway, I have forward your report/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience. Thanks Basj, Stardock Community Assistant
Yeah, I think they should be aware of things like this. Thanks... [
Never mind... I just added the file(s) to the white list. Funny IObit won't add it to their safe list, but that's up to them I guess. Thanks for the help & all... [e classic]:congrat:[/e] [e digicons][/e]
Yup, I got it directly from Stardock. I always scan what I download, so should be okay. I also so happened to come across this thread while I was searching: https://forums.stardock.com/506902/bitdefender-is-reporting-coloured-lights-with-a-virus-after-i-just-installe Seems like it should be added to the white list. I did contact IObit though, but all they told me was th
Hey, yeah I was scanning my computer today for malware as I routinely do & it picked up these files "lights32.dll" & "lights64.dll" & marked them as "Gen:Variant.Graftor.946001" & quarantined the files. I don't know what that means, but I double checked on Virus Total & it flagged those files as malicious from 13 vendors. Are these files safe or do they have some sort of malware in them?? I noticed that the dream "Coloured Lights" cannot run without these files. They seem
Hmm, okay thanks. I'll keep all that in mind... [e digicons][/e] I did play around with Dream Maker Pro a little bit once before, but yeah if I get stuck, I can poke around the forums or let my question in a post on here if it's not already answered. Yeah, I did notice that some of those themes were pretty old, yet they still work (at least the ones I tried) on DS11. I only encountered a few from WinCustomize that just didn't work for some reason, but most of the dreams
After I posted I came across this post: https://forums.stardock.com/343508/editing-a-dream The 1 poster called "Littleboy" did explain how to do that, but when I looked in the Extracted Data folder, I noticed all my video files from the dreams I have used are in AVI format. Would what "Littleboy" posted still work, even though the video isn't in MPEG or WMV format?? According to that post, I assume all I'd need is the video file
I was wondering, is it possible to edit dreams other people made (like the ones I get off of WinCustomize.com) so I could change or add an effect? I wanted to have certain scenes (like ocean, lighthouse, spooky old graveyard, etc.) have like a foggy effect, but I'm not sure how to do that. I think maybe it'd be great if Stardock would add that to the effects section, but it's not in there yet. [e digicons]:([/e] Also, a lightning effect may be cool for certain dreams as well (like the types
I tried what you tried & it was almost but I still saw the edges in my globe image. I don't know how to get rid of the edges & make it look like a globe without the use of third-party software. Think I'll try Blender for that task... plenty of YouTube videos on that & it's completely free, so nothing but time to lose there. [e digicons][/e] I'll play around with it & stuff to see what I can come up with. Thanks for the suggestions & stuff. [e classic]:congrat:
I think I meant to ask about the EditorDeskScapes.exe program. That's what runs when I click on Create Animated Background in DeskScapes. I discovered that I can run that program by double-clicking on it, but if I do it that way, it loads up the default background instead of whatever background I choose in DeskScapes. That's okay though because I can always select a different background. Thanks for the suggestions, they were helpful. [e classic]:congrat:[/e] As for the
Also, this may be off topic, but I wasn't sure where to ask this question about Dream Maker Pro. I have this planet picture & I wanted to make the planet part spin without having to make the whole picture spin such as with the glass ball effect. I thought of simply cutting out the planet portion with Paint.net, then paste that into a new file & save it, then open that file up in Dream Maker Pro & use the glass ball effect on the planet to make it spin within my still background, k
Oh there's a stand alone version of Dream Maker? I never knew that, I only thought it came with DeskScapes 11. Where can I get that version of Dream Maker Pro???
Thanks that was helpful. [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]
P.S. How do I make my own animated themes?? I know it has a feature for that & has some preinstalled templates, but I was wondering can I add my own templates if I wanted to? Does WinCustomize have templates for DS11 or do I just make them somehow?? I got a bunch of regular static backgrounds in JPG format, so I was hoping I could make some dreams from them. Are the effects & stuff also predefined or are there additional FX I can get somewhere??? I never made a dream/animation before,
BTW, I noticed under the recently installed animated backgrounds section that it shows themes I used before that are not currently installed. I can't seem to get rid of them by selecting & choosing delete theme, so I'm thinking it's remembering that somehow like a file history feature would. I went to the advanced section & cleared the extracted files & online cache folders, but that didn't fix the issue because I still see them. I don't see a setting for DS11 to remember (or not)
Thanks AzDude! [e digicons][/e] I changed my settings in DS11 just like you said & it was set at EVR already. I can't use that mode, which is why my dreams wouldn't animate. So I can either use Media Foundation or VMR-9 for any of my dreams/animated wallpapers. IDK why the other person didn't tell me that, but I'm glad you told me about it. I tweaked a few other settings too while I was at it, so now DS11 is set up just the way I like it & I can use that instead of DS10. [e
Okay, I followed the steps mentioned in the "Purging and re-installing" section. I ran the DSPurge script, let it do its thing & rebooted. I then installed DS 11, ran the DS_Restart script, let it run its course & rebooted. I tried some themes that were installed with DS 11, plus a couple I installed separately. It would animate them in the preview window, however it doesn't animate any of them when I go to try it out in screensaver mode. <span s
This happens on all of the ones I tried. I think those dreams were made for DS 10 or earlier. Regardless of which theme I use, when I try it in DS 11, it doesn't keep the theme animated. Also, the themes that come with DS 11 I couldn't even get to work at all, so I can't tell you much about those dreams. I get all of the extra dreams & cursors I want off of WinCustomize.com, which I assume is the correct place to get those. I usually try out the stuff I download to be sure it works &
I have Windows Pro 21H2 build 190044.1266 & purchased & tried the DeskScapes 11 Beta. I found that my animated dreams only animate for a few seconds or so, then remain static. I didn't see anyone else mention about this issue in this post, so I'm not sure if Stardock is aware of the issue or not. This is a small bug but it's very annoying, especially since I paid the 5 bucks to upgrade from DS 10. I used the DSPurge batc
