I can't find this anywhere -- what do the little symbols mean in the combat viewer results? I understand the Beam, Missile, and Kinetic symbols, but there are these in the middle: > They are in white or red, and sometimes there are one of each or two of the same kind. Then that's followed by Shield, Chaff, or Armor symbol, followed by damage done.&nbs

[quote quoting="post"] The anchor sound for shipyards is much louder than other sounds, especially the unanchor sound. There have been complaints about this for years, but the sound is still the same. I have finally found a way to "fix" this. I found a file that defines what sounds to use for some of the sounds. The anchor sound is in the file. There are other sounds listed for other situations, so I experimented with different sounds until I found one
I have the MSI version of this and I agree! It's great and runs on really high setting on all the 4x games, GC3, Civ 6, Shogun, etc. At a great price!
When clicking on certain tiles to upgrade on planets, the sound is INSANELY loud and quite painful. It doesn't matter if UI or SFX is up or down -- it's the relative level that is messed up. How can I change an individual sound? Or at least its level. Again, it's not the overall level, it's the occasional badly mixed sounds that's too loud. Do I need to buy Miles Sound System to change these sounds? If so, that is not cool. I shouldn't have to pay to fix sound mixing err
Thanks for all your help, but now there are 2 problems which prevent me from playing the game, and I think I have to ask for my money back. 1. Changing the screen resolution DOES NOT CHANGE THE SIZE OF THE FONT. It just makes the playing area smaller. This is absolutely no help at all. And more importantly -- 2. When you TAB from unit to unit, the screen scrolls quickly in a vertiginous manner, similar to the hor
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for all this info. Especially the TAB key -- which, BTW, is NOT listed in the hotkey section of the manual. I also just realized I've been playing 4x games since Reach For The Stars in 1983. 30 years! Damn, I'm old [e digicons]:(O[/e] Thanks for your patience in explaining these things. I really appreciate it! I should be more forgiving. After all, it's not till the
I just bought this game and I am stunned that it got good reviews. It ignores the basic interface paradigms that have long been proven useful in 4x games. I started playing and gave up. This game is not playable for me until they fix basic problems: 1. There is no hotkey for selecting the next unit. The only way to select a new unit is to scroll to it and select it. So, if you've forgotten where your units are (easy to do in a 4x g
