I always back up my od-component-downloads (.cmi's and .cab's)to another folder before installing, so that I have them handy after a crash or something. Sure You can copy them to the OD-folder afterwards. Just be sure to have the installed-value set to '0' in the cmi-file, otherwise the component will appear as installed in CM.

...oops... get rid of the "Inaccessible Boot device" message by installing the standard MS IDE-driver on the old board before and everything looked fine after the first restart, but then the mess begun....
