Same thing happened to me, however works fine on my workstation, but not laptop. I uninstalled as well.

Cannot switch to alternate desktops in Fences Stardock Forums

Not sure when this happened, but I cannot move to an alternate desktop. My fences are not locked, I slide all to left or right and it just bounces back to my primary fence. I have WIn 8.1. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gary D
