This is already in the works. I have a writer and a developer on board. What we are lacking is models and art. Which, as you can imagine, makes up about 75% of the mod. We would be more than willing to work with anyone to produce a top quality modification. let me know @ jonhutch24 (at) gmail (dot) com

It actually wouldn't take that much at all. All it takes is for each player to save the state of the universe when they exit or hit the save button, which I think it does already. Then it's just a matter of who ever is hosting the game, giving that saved universe to all the players joining so they have the copy that the host wants to use. I can't see how that would be that difficult...

The way I envisioned it was like this. Player A hosts a game with 5 open slots, and let's say he immediately invites players B and C into the game and makes the other two slots AI controlled. During the course of the game, player C has to leave early (work, sleep, house on fire, etc.) so he exits and now it's just players A & B duking it out, with player C's faction taken over by the AI. Now players A & B wants to invite a buddy, so they call up player D, he joins in and sees three open factions

as it consumes alot of resources Possible solution: Make it optional. Those who want it can deal with the performance hit, those who don't, won't have a story generated. And if you really want to take it another step. Make it an optional download for Dark Avatar. So those who REALLY don't want it won't even have it in the game. But I won

I know it was said that it was optional to have these Mega Events happen, but will we be able to control the frequency? Example: low frequency: Occurs once maybe twice (for the REALLY long games) medium frequency: three to five times per game depending upon length high frequency: seven to ten per game depending upon length Those are, of course, just play numbers, and they should really be based upon the length of game (i.e. you could have ten mega events even on low fre

In some cases, you don't WANT to use a bonus tile. Perfect example of this is the food tile. In most cases I will build anything BUT a farm on it, for the simple fact that by doing so would create an over populated planet (making it more difficult to keep happy). So I think that there are certainly times when not using a tile is a good idea. Just my 2 credits.

I was thinking it would be cool to be able to allow players to host persistant Galaxies that allow for players to connect and play on. You could break it up into sectors. A normal map being equal to one sector, and allow players to move to different sectors via different techs. There would of course have to be something where the computer would take over in the absence of the player, but that could be a good tech to add.. automated defenses... anyhow, I think it would be cool, have maybe a 5X5
