I'd like to encounter the Umgah - for similar reasons with the Arilou - the Umgah would have probably (sneakily) kept tabs on humans - especially if they're already playing around with bio-engineering - they'd want to abduct humans for samples/experimentation. I daresay you'd encounter the Umgah by finding them doing something dodgy somewhere close to home. On the flip side, you wouldn't meet the Spathi at all - they'd see a ship and instantly run, assuming they were eve
