thank you! so i'm assuming you can't show system tray icons AND minimized windows at the same time?

I'm trying to figure out how this works. How do i get them to display on my dock, for example if I open a program that is not a docklet/shortcut on my dock, then minimize it, there is no icon or anything that shows up, so i have to bring my windows taskbar back up just to find it again. How exactly do i get them to show on my dock? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
