I've never seen a popup with any of stardock software. More than likely it's checking for updates. Most software does it now days. This is not how malware works at all not even close. I have software that checks for updates. I just ether get the update or click no. It does not really bother me that much. but like I said I have never had any from stardock software. I get an email from them. but I signed up for them. So that's no big deal. [e digicons]*_*[/e]

do a restore to a time before you installed start 8 the first time just to rule it out. turn off the firewall see if that fixes it and if it does go in to the firewall settings and see whats mucking up the works. try reinstalling the network drivers. try a different browser. reset your internet connection. open a command prompt type in ipconfig/release then the enter key then type ipconfig/renew hit enter. just for kicks and giggles type in ipconfig/flushdns hit enter. close comm
