Yep you're correct - after the latest patch the spell did turn up and casting it on a city that wasn't affected by the actual curse changed it for me so that I could build and train again. (casting it on the city with the curse didn't remove it for some reason) I had everything trained through all trees and the dispel spell wasn't there not sure if it was a bug - or the spell had accidentally been left out of the scenario or something

Yes, I guess there is more than one, but it is a beta... So I have great confidence that it will be fixed... in the mean time I'm having a great time.
I have to agree an Undead Faction would be great, as would a few undead heroes... I have also found that after playing for hours that I have had one or two crashes... since then I have a habit of restarting my computer every 2-3 hours and it hasn't happened since... I'd add to your wish list the ability to create artifact items for heroes like you could in Master Of Magic... I think some really nice items already exist in the game (phoenix shield springs to mind) but
How do you kiss the frog? (don't worry I thought about it for 2 seconds and realise I have the item in my inventory :D) Not that it matters too much at the moment as I seem to have discovered a bug in the scenario with winters grip and no dispel magic in the magic tree... Is it meant to stop training and building in every single city? I can see the original city that was hit with the city curse (winters grip) and the icon shows in the cities detail scre
I think it would be fun in the main menu to have a Create Hero function so that you could add a few heroes into the game... but not to customize them in the game world. The reason I say this is that the way LH is working Heroes are attracted to you because of your fame as a great Sovereign and your work to recreate civilization in the world. The ability to create heroes and add as you like into the game as you play it may
I know this is months out of date... but. I'm having the same problem - I can't find the dispel spell in the magic research tree - i've researched the whole of all 3 trees and am now researching the repeatable options as there is nothing else left... I'm playing the first scenario... Is dispel enchantments not allowed in the first scenario? I have looked at the Mana system and looked through all Enchantments and found that a
Thank you for that -- i did have a adventures guild...
Maybe you have this already - I'm playing on easy getting a feel for the game - my character has the trait that gives champions / heroes for free... This was doing very well and saving me some money - but when i got to the point I had researched magic to the level I could hire level 9 heroes I went running over to the two heroes I had seen and I can't hire either as they require -256 gold. I have 8000+ gold... I assume this is a bug. I couldn't find a l
thanks for that -- sounds like GalCiv 2 is more my cup of tea. got a note that Gal Civ 2 is on special so that is a bonus, :) i'll grab that -- though thats not all expansions - i haven't looked at it.
Hi all - it's my birthday and I thought i'd get a strategy game for my self. I don't often have a lot of cash - but sins and Galciv seem to have a lot of re playability - but also seem to be a lot alike. Can someone who has played both shed a little light on both please. I'm not a hard core player who wants to spend 10 minutes a turn planning 10 turns ahead. But i do enjoy building empires and all the Civilization stuff.
Alt enter will make the dos box full screen
I'd put it down to - the cover box art is cover box art and meant to give an artists impression of what the game is about. The screen shots are on the back of the box - depicting actual game play. I personally play many many games where the cover art is not possible in the game what many movies where the dvd cover doesn't actually happen. Look to the screen shots for what you can actually do in the game. it's why they are there. The confus
Thanks for the replies - I agree that MOM was a kind of magical empire building sim rather than a true strategy game. I also agree with Lfseeney in that it was the FEELING of playing MOM that i thought was so much FUN.- i think that if someone re created MOM exactly with modern graphics it would be great - but then it wouldn't really be taking that next step. That next step is what i think we all hope Elemental will become. http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Games/St
lol - strangely enough since I got the new 24" screen (recently) I hadn't thought of that -- talk a bout a DOH!! moment lol
Just as a matter of interest - with the down loadable version of MOM from gog.com whats the screen resolution? it says it plays in vista and Xp - i have the original disks and play via dos box - I was just wondering if they, in making it compatible with XP and vista some how got a way from the 640 by 480 window - I play on a 24 inch wide screen monitor at 1920*1080 and the dos box version is so tiny its hard to play these days.
To begin with I agree with everything you have said about MOM - but that doesn't mean I don't still love MOM (I played a game using dos box the other day) - people love it despite its flaws. Because Master of Magic was just plain good fun. It was simple and had some really remarkable elements that i have never seen again in a 4X magical game. though I admit to not having played Age of Wonders 2 - i might pick it
I think you have to add the track record that Stardock has for supporting its own games and the kind of AI that they are capable of. I'm aware that there are a lot of hurdles and a lot of work to be done - but the track record of Stardock with games like Gal Civ - says that as long as they don't go out of business the game will improve. I'm not saying it will be the MOM slayer that we all hoped. But it could be. As i have spent my money It costs me nothing to be
I am also in australia and I find it by far cheaper to buy books from amazon.co.uk and pay the shipping. But in this case the book is far cheaper in the US amazon. -- http://www.amazon.com/Elemental-Destinys-Embers-Bradley-Wardell/dp/0345517865/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1284094016&sr=8-1 i'm guessing it would be less than $20 Australian to buy and have posted at the slowest postage - which takes (in my experience)
So you want to create a trading post where you can trade for items at a set price rather than with other kingdoms? that might cause a lot of problems with the trade economy of the game as why would any one ever want to trade with another kingdom and use diplomacy? but i agree that most of the time the trade options in the games i have played are either way too expensive or simply not needed.
I got my copy in the mail yesterday in Australia - if you're in the US is it possible that they are tracking their postage items and are therefore aware that you didn't get yours yet? who knows... but if that is what is happening then that's good customer service. :)
LOL great photo :) just what i always wanted
Sounds good to me always better to wait than to rush. -- quick question for Stardock - with up to 16? players in multiplayer - if there is a tactical battle between player 1 and 2 for instance. will players 3,4,5,6,7, and 8 be able to play manage their kingdom - or have separate second tactical battles running at the same time? Or, will it be a matter of resolving each tactical battle one after another? obviously all players will have to wait until all tactical b
To be honest - under the present system - I believe - which is to say I'm not 100% sure - that there is a limit to how many units can be stacked into one stack and therefore one fight. with a max of 12 actual figures per unit there would, to me, seem way way too many figures in that picture to be an actual combat from the game as it now is. Maybe if there was no hero in the army and 144 on each side or something... Maybe someone has gotten further in in than me? anyo
I have found that having my heroes use bows is a great way of keeping them alive -=- Now all we need are some nice magic bows....
Personally I think a sovereign should be able to use, expend, cast - not sure what to call it - essence to fertilize land. I then think that every city should HAVE to be build next to a fertile land tile. This would help with city spamming. But when you think about it - with all your Dynasty around this isn't really that big a think. But it would slow the growth of kingdoms / empires and also return the whole concept of a Sovereign being the savior of the peo
