I have played Gal Civ III since its inception at Alpha. I have over 2000 hours playing so far. It is by far and away the best space 4x game on the market. Its Ai is superb and its depth of gameplay will keep you awake long past your time to sleep making the 'one more turn' a horrible reality to you the next day. The latest expansion brings me back to how challenging and deep Gal Civ II was with all its expansions. It really is an amazing game.

Few games will get me to read the lore. Ill do it with ESO at times and the new Battletech, I read just to make sure they kept the story on track. I fully intend on reading and absorbing the lore and nuances on the various races that SCO gives us. Its one reason why I have not delved too deeply in the lore/spoilers sections of our discord channel. I will read Frogs backstory to give me (an overall) frame of reference but each races story is to be savored.

I do not do enough deep cpu intensive applications to need that higher clock. I am also not savvy enough to do it without screwing it up. I can get as far as an amateur computer build with water cooling but deliding and 'effing' it up would worry me.

Greetings! I currently have my 8700K over clocked to 4.7. This is the 'burst' or turbo speed it runs at when under load. I set the 'resting' state speed at 4.5. I am not sure what the terminology. Is there a value in pushing the over clock to 4.9 or even 5.0? I am using Corsairs H110i water cooler. I have seen a few newer posts on their SC reddit page. Most are PNF fans posting angrily such as Psycho, Icewind, Elestan and others. Mostly about how thier posts are removed.

@Darkgildon If you are asking me my opinion, to be honest Stardock could call it whatever and as long as it has a good story, and good game play I will play it and tell my friends. @DarkGildon, you are correct I am cynical and you are also correct that not having spent hours in either SCI or II means I am not the fanatical fan where some are going to say, if it does not have the Spathi its not Star Control. I am irritated with the fanatics who would not even give SCO the time of day. They are the ones losing out. After all its 'just a game' right? I have a question. Is there a court date for when the both parties go before the judge and the judge determines if the 1988 thing is or is not valid? I understand that delaying is a tactic to wear out the other party. I would hate to see resources from SD be wasted which could otherwise be used to create great games.

This made me realize something. In the legal update thread it was mentioned that Folks here side with SD (naturally) while the majority of Star Control fans side with F&P which is outside this forum. Think about that. I am of the age when the original games were published yet I never heard of them. After reviewing the features and 'fun' that SCO will bring I was excited to be on board with it. Talonius, As soon as F&P tried to cancel the trademark that Stardock owns they stepped up the entire aggressiveness. At that point the gloves are off and now we 'stick em with the pointy' end. Go for everything.

After watching the video I realized this guy gets paid from donations. I also felt he presented his ideas with bias. This leads me to believe that F&P made a sizable donation to his Patreon page in exchange for a video hit piece on his end, making it appear his expertise has now judged in favor of F&P. The above post (shown by Frog) to me feels like it was written by someone not qualified to speak to the public or to customers. I can't believe that they are letting posts like that out especially while in litigation.
