if he truely lost Vista it would probably be because he made a mistake and did not specify the partition for Win 7 and formated the entire drive. or possibly did not specify the CORRECT partition an installed it on the Vista partition over Vista thus losing it. ok thanx maybe I can find it now. I found the skin that applied the bat user icon I mentioned earlier. it is Transilvania by TreeTog . Been looking at it, it applies the user icon, strange thing though is I can't find the actual icon image in SKS other than in backgrounds under wallpaper???? guess I will see if I can open the UIS file and see how it is inser

just wanted to say thanks to the vets of the forums and especially those who skin. a lot of forums you go to these days have a large membership that seem to do nothing but flame the noobs and forget that they too once needed help in the very areas that they are flaming the new people about, treating them as though they are stupid. I have yet to see that here, the vets respectfully provide help without a better than attitude. thanx people.
The user icon is determined by your system. To change that, go to control panel and click on user accounts. There you can change your user picture
first, thanks for the time to respond, but this does not really answer my question. for the above quote, thanks but, this I knew and is part of what lead me to wonder if the customer user icon is simply an icon stored on ones PC and chosen as the user icon rather than being incl

2 questions, part a WB and part an SKS. WB -- when downloading a skin that should have a user icon it will no longer apply. I had one skin apply a very nice user icon of a bat. since then no other user icon will apply. I have checked and unchecked (several times) the setting in WB for replacing the user icon if the skin has one to no avail. any ideas as to why? or how I can get it back to applying user icons (other than resorting to uninstalling and reinstalling)? it may be an MBR problem. have you tried fixmbr in the command line? you could try this if fixmbr doesn't solve the problem. just a thought. as a side note... I always leave my system running. the fact is with electronics, constant powering up and powering down will eventually (sometimes sooner rather than later) cause damage to electrical components from the heat up/cool

First....if you have never been there try shopping newegg.com first. http://www.newegg.com hard to beat their prices and service is excellent. I only buy PC componects elsewhere if newegg does not have what I'm looking for. I too am not up on the currently lastest and greatest so I won't suggest much for specific parts/models, also do your research... part of it depends on the games you want to play. If your w

as well you can create a copy of the original skin when you open it in Skin Studio. if you do this you can rename it at that point. then you don't have to worry about making sure you use the 'save as' function.
Good catch, blackcurtain. Both the fixed ATX main power connector and PCI-e connector are on the same rail. There are two PCI-e connectors on the Toughpower 750W other than this fixed one, and these two connectors are on their own 12V rail. The manual states if you are using high end SLI/Crossfire that you should use the two modular PCI-e cables. So if you want to run SLI, you'll need to run them off of the modular PCI-

My first skin, starting basic while having to also learn photoshop in the process so it is going very slow. 3 weeks in taskbars (horiz and vert) done, start menu about half done, pop up and group menus done. LOTS of redos on images so far from my graphics learning curve....LOL but I enjoy it. Have wanted for a long time to learn skinning and photoshop and finally decided it was time to pull my hair out! provided that your PSU is not 2 or 3 years old it has the total amp output to power it. the PSU is 60A. if it is more than a year old I would consider replacing it with a new 60A. The thing I SERIOUSLY donot like about that PSU is that it is multi-rail with 4 rails. each rail has a MAX amp output of 18A. as Sole SOul said the cards require 141W each at max load which is going to be 11.75A. Each card requires 2 - 6pin connectors. which means you will need to be using 2 separate power c

short answer...Yes you can. Now the book explanation and suggestion.... the only thing that REALLY matters is that they have the same GPU (9800) the clock speed difference is simply a factory setting. I would however suggest that you either overclock the 9800GTX to match the clock of the 9800GTX+ or underclock the GTX+ down to the GTX speed The next thing that would play a part is the vram. you can run cards of different sized vram but they will both perform at the lev

Undoubtedly it is an issue with your system. some sort of conflict going on. The way you worded it sounds like it is happening with all blinds? or is it just one or two? Firefox is the only browser I use and have had no problems. Try support if you haven't fixed the problem. Beyond that I would suggest playing with Firefox settings or uninstalling software to see if you can find what is conflicting. Something that a lot of people don't know, don't realize, or forget ab

the only only other simple option would be to copy the WB install.exe to disk and all your blinds files so you can install them on the second PC. which is basically the same as what Philly suggested, just a different route of getting your install.exe file on the other system. your still going to have to install WB on the second system and then install each blind into it. the only option for actually getting WB and your blinds on the second system without installing each as nor

sounds to me like you have a highjacker. if what MottiKhan suggested doesn't solve the problem, uninstall all AV software and try Kasersky. IMO it is the best and v7 (2008 version) was also rated as the number one AV by PCWorld Magazine last year. I have been using it for over a year and have not had a single problem that it could not fix. v8 is pretty much the same with a nicer, more user friendly GUI. One nice thing about kaspersky is that the trial version is FULLY function

ablebodied, Welcome, I too am new to skinning, still working on my first. a few things can make life a little easier (for me anyway): if you leave a little transparency room on your canvas you can also move the image on the canvas to help line up properly to. This is also helpful for certain areas too like the start menu. if your top, bottom, left, and more programs images are against the left edge of the canvas the start menu will render on screen all the way to the l
