I'm about to upgrade from XP to win 7pro. I'm copying my files to an external HD for the move, and am wondering if I can just move Sins to my external HD and then copy and paste it into Win7 on the new HD? Or do I have to install and update from scratch? Thanks! ps--does anyone have win7 that doesnt have any problems playing sins? I read a few posts about people having problems, and am won

Referring to 1 friend and I vs. the AI...so not sp. Yes when the timer is at 0, it flashes for a bit then they launch. however, whether this is new to this current patch or not I'm not sure, but a tthe very last milisecond, the AI will post a bid and then it immediately launches. I've even tried bidding, waiting 3 seconds and bidding again, ad infinitum, hoping to get the last bid....but the AI cheats....10 to 1. I'm no noob, I know ho
To clarify, I dont find the pirates too powerful, just that wave after wave after wave that I cant out bid or turn to a different player takes it's toll, especially when I am doubled or tripled by enemies.
The pirate bribe needs a countdown of some sort. What happens now is a message " a pirate raid is impending" or somesuch message. Then if you click on a faction to up the bounty on them, they then up the bounty on you, this goes on, until the raid launches, but at the last second, just before the launch, the AI ups the bounty on you, and the raid becomes official...always on me. I have only seen the bounty remain on the faction I've bid on (and some times I've pu
In a TEC fleet, is there really a need for Cielos? Seems like the Akkan passive ability to coordinate is sufficient. ...or maybe I'm not seeing the true value of the Cielo?
Most of those were released for Entrenchment I believe....as I recall playing them and have save games for some of those maps for entrenchment. I'd like to see a new list as well...
Freefly, the problem is with your hardware dude. That's why we're trying to help. Contacting support is likely your best bet since they will probably have come across your particular problem before. Sorry we havent hit on the exact problem yet...
Is it of any value to have my own envoy cruisers at my own planets?
I have all the graphics turned up, all options on, no issues regardless of the size of the map or number of ships. I'm using 32bit XP. Take a look at what's running in the background, make sure your anti virus isnt scanning while you are playing. Seems like the HD must be doing something, or it could be bad sound drivers for win 7...
A gameplay example...which explains a lot! https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/375075 and here's a guided tour: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/375420
Was there any tutorial or guide released with Diplomacy? I know there's a diplomacy manual, but it has as much information as a starved chicken living on an iceberg. Seriously? No guidelines on what to do, each tech and its usefullness, etc? Just gotta figure it out?
do I have to do anything with the envoy cruisers at my ally's planets, or just send them there and let them sit? IOW, any micro involved or do they do their own thing on their own?
New to entrenchment, but long time SoaSE player and need some input about diplomacy: Sorry for the noob questions, but: So in a multiplayer game, what should I do with my diplomatic ships, TEC's envoy cruisers for instance? Put one at my team mate's home world? Which Techs for diplomacy are necessary or beneficial for mp? Besides researching the 3rd tier tech of universal negotiation to be able to give credits (3rd tier is too
I havent played Entrenchment for quite some time, but did play quite a bit. Now I've got Diplomacy and I'd like to get my hotkeys and key bindings from Entrenchment moved over, but I dont want to figure out each and every key to do so. Is there an easier way? too bad Diplomacy didnt just update entrenchment.... thanks!
I have a couple of friends that want to start playing sins, but I dont have the time to walk them thru how to play. Are there any good guides, youtube links, etc that would be helpfull to someone who is trying to get started? Thanks!
perhaps the OP wants some help....give him a basic build to work with...
I bought diplomacy. Likely I'll play it in sp, glad to have the option for $10 to play it mp if I want. At $10, whether to buy it or not is a non issue. I know I'll get $10 worth of enjoyment out of it, and look forward to whatever is coming out of the gate from IronClad. ...seriously, $10? I paid more to see Avatar in 3D (and I saw it 2 times). Splitting the mp community IS an issue, but this idea of buying it or not deserves a
Well, I'm eager for news, and eager for an update/sequel to Sins. It's simply the most amazing and addictive RTS ever. Looking forward to diplomacy, but hope to get a single player campaign with some substance and challenge.
In my Stardock advertisement email for today, it listed the option to pre-order Diplomacy, the "final micro-expansion" for Sins. What happened to the planned 3rd micro expansion? Has it been upgraded to a "major" expansion, an expansion pack, or shelved for a full sequel to SoaSE? Any hint at all on what is going on? Thanks! RM
Yeah, I got the "last micro expansion" email and thought "hey, there was supposed to be 3". Havent played in a few months, but still regard SoaSE as the best game on my HD. Was looking forward to the 3rd expansion actually, as I'm not that interested in diplomacy, though I will buy it. So...no word on the 3rd expansion, a possible sequel instead of an expansion, or a "major expansion" yet? All of the above would be great, and I'll gladly purchase wha
I think if a player has a cap ship, even one that isnt a colonizer, he's still in the game as he can do substantial damage even with that one cap. But I guess after all this discussion, there is no list....good thing I didnt post his name I guess....
I think Sins needs a victory condition: Lose your HW under certain circumstances, and you lose. The circumstances being: You have no caps left. This would force a player to move his hw, and he could do so indefinitely, if he has the planets. It would also focus attention on keeping a world and a cap alive...and would promote more team effort in keeping a player alive. It would stop this very lame method of people doing these things.
I have a screenshot of him saying "I'm just going to walk away and leave the game running" or something to that effect. I also have the .rec The only real benefit is that the person's main nick (in this case) becomes recognizable as a person who has poor behavior and will walk away from his pc as a retaliation for losing. and as far as smurfing, smurfs with few games arent trusted from what I've seen.
