So theres no way I can play 08 on my comp? would an older version of the game work?

Why is it that when I start up my game, instead of the opening movie (i assume it's the opening movie) is a white screen. And when I get to the main menu, all i see is a white screen with some of the options across the right side of the screen. Is this my video card or what?
