Given the fact that combat is fleet-based, I don't really see the validity of your explanation. Transports add nothing to a fleet, already putting you at a disadvantage in fleet on fleet combat. Then you have the fact that there's no zone of control exerted by fleets- so even if you create screener fleets for your fleet loaded with both combat ships and transports, the enemy can just zig straight through them to get at the weakest fleet. Given the massive move advantage in t
The sentry idea is an interesting quality of life feature, I wonder how others would interpret this as far as balance goes
Is there a balance concern? It's no different than me manually checking every single fleet every turn- which is fine on smaller maps, but soon as you play on Large it gets to be a real pain that dramatically slows gameplay.
I have been trying out running the tech to get sovereign immunity quickly, and using the flag battleships to spearhead civ invasions, so I have battleships 'early' in the game that level quickly but get 100s of points of damage each. I also would like to see repair ships come long before you need to research battleship tech.
Exactly, I've gotten big ships nickle and dimed to death becaus

Maybe not as big an issue on smaller maps, but if you're playing on Large or above, it can be a significant pain to keep popping over to check each and every single fleet every turn to make sure it's not about to be ambushed when put on Repair. Repair should thus work similarly to Sentry, waking the fleet up automatically when enemy gets near. Also seems like fleet repair options should come sooner in tech tree, but maybe I'm just not beelining to the right tech fast enoug

Played two games against Yor last night, one normal difficulty, one bright. Both games were large maps, and only me and the Yor (was hoping for an epic slug fest, only conquest vic condition). In first game, Yor barely expanded at all even at turn like 200. I didn't fully scout out their space because I respect other people's privacy, but maybe they just had bad luck of durantium all spawning near me? Not sure. Since game was no challenge, I restarted.

Even if you unselect other victory conditions, Cultural and Prestige will still trigger- those are the two I am aware of so far. Also, even when selecting for civilizations to start far away from each other on large maps or above, they consistently will start close to you. I've played just two games tonight on Large map and both times I had one civ (only selected 2 opponents) start literally next to me. When you drop it to just one civ opponent, it'll sometimes happen though

I tried using search tool but couldn't find anything- so quick question about fleet battles. In previous Gal Civs when you entered into a fleet battle you and the enemy's ships would focus all firepower on a single ship at a time, destroying that ship and moving on to the next ship during each side's 'round' of firing. My question is if this is still the case in GalCivIII, or if fleet battles will be more dynamic? My problem is simply that not

I haven't played galciv2 in months and was wondering if there was a ship queue fucntion added yet or maybe an addon/mod that would provide that functionality. It's extremely frustrating to have to zoom back into a planet to change the type of ship being built or to constantly keep tabs on all the starports on all your planets. When you're playing large maps its turns the game into a chore.

Would it be possible to add a queue to the ship build window like with the colony build window? It gets ever so extremely tiring to constantly zoom back into a planet or hunt for planets using the colony list just to change what ship you want it to build. For example: If I want to build ShipA, ShipB, ShipD, ShipA, ShipC I would need to constantly be going back into the starport to select the ship I want next. With a ship queue I could just queue up my bui

yes i'm changing ship styles. i should clarify my question: If I want to build a transporter, attackvesselA, attackvesselB, constructor, attackvesselC is there any way to 'queue' up this order so that I don't constantly have to zoom into the planet and select the next ship I want built? I've had to stop playing because of that, once you get 30+ colonies it gets extremely tiring to constantly be zooming into planets to select the next type of ship you want t

I played GCI extensively and just started GCII, had a quick questions for all the pros out there. Is there any way to set up a queue order for ships like you can do for planetary improvements? It is endlessly annoying to have to constantly zoom back to the planet's queue and select the next type of ship you want built. I know you can right click the icons on the right and autolaunch ships btw. Just seems like you are spending the majority of your time in the sh
