FWIW, I have an easier time playing a game in SupCom at any time than I have of getting into a game of DG. If I get a chance to play, odds are I'll end up doing a single-player skirmish because no game are in the lobby and no one joins my game. I think this game had its chance to be popular, but it had a few issues at a critical time. The community honestly isn't the best either - it can be worse than quake players fairly often. Every few online game I manage to play have some kind of

Why don't I premade instead of pug? 1. I'm seldom online at the time my friends are. 2. I don't play for long enough bouts when my friends are online in order to be waiting in the lobby at the same time they are, and I don't really have the time to sit idle and wait. 3. It's more interesting to play a game with randoms vs randoms, for me anyway. I don't have anything against premade teams. They are unfair only if they try to hide t
I'd rather get mass effect via impulse than steam. I haven't bothered because of (a) securom and (b) steam is a piece of crap.
Yup, DPS reg sucks. Don't do it. Ever. Thanks.
Often I find an early death on my side is accompanied by an early death on their side either just before or just after. The difference really does end up being 600 gold, which can come out in the wash easily enough. I've lost games when I've had the early kill, I've won games when dying early. Early deaths are no biggie unless you're already overmatched or very unlucky.
You allies are not set to easy when you play the SP tournament. They play more like normal or hard AI players. They don't level up as fast as nightmare tho. I honestly find nightmare tournaments to be only a slight challenge. You can game the AI because the AI doesn't know teamwork. If they made sp tourney easier I'd be bored...
In order for rook to get those towers in the numbers required to be a threat he really has to hamstring himself. Early levels you can almost ignore 1-3 towers to get a rook at 1/2 health, kill him, and make it to safety. Later levels the towers get knocked down faster than they can be set up. As a reg player I think they work out ok - if they need a buff then it's at the upper levels where they are pretty frail.
I had a small comeback today on cataract. Teams were fairly even, though we did lose our erebus player about halfway thru. We were 1 lvl higher with our DGs, but 2 WR levels behind. We did manage to hold off their cats until we hit WR 10, and both sides got giants at the same time. For whatever reason, we could not hold our own portals. Every time we attempted, all three of them would scroll in to hold it. We ignored the middle flags that were under their control, and ninja'd one of t
If you can be punished at the crystal the other team has been owning you for some time. Are you sure you weren't level 9 while he was level 15-20?
Instead of mIRC you can use XChat...
Ok, I just managed to push back an erebus using the AA reg. It was not cheap to do it - I used 2 small health potions from the artifact shop. I managed to kill off his minion horde twice, but he was able to batswarm away in the end - he left because I assume he was out of mana. My loadout was mage, ring, crit gloves, decent armor, and I had nature's reckoning. I'm pretty sure he didn't have horn, but I was doing about 700 dmg per shot so maybe it wouldn't have mattered much. I think he was up
I used to use Heaven's Wrath. It works well for accelerating your levelling, but if you use it on cataract you should be shot.
If it works on Vista, it will work on Win7.
I haven't been having a problem playing the tournament on nightmare mode. At least, not yet. My level goes up faster than the nightmare AIs on the other team. My AI teammates fall behind, but it's okay because I get fed more. Take advantage of the lone AIs. The enemy AI doesn't make a big effort to group up. Use that to your advantage.
I play custom games only. MP skirmish doesn't work for me, and starting a game in the patheon takes forever, in some cases literally.
Rank of 400 or better isn't meaningful. Many stats are stacked, and I'm not finding the rank 100-200 guys particularly good unless they are on a well-organized team. There are even a few top 50 guys that are really mediocre.
LOL Now that you can game the stats by quitting as host these guys are starting to show losses.
I used to have an issue with doubles. Not anymore, though 5 regulus with full snipe *could* be a problem...
P.S: there is nothing worse than full AA reg.
Well, I'm not the same level as you, but I think I've played enough to say that you need to qualify that statement more. AA reg shines late-game, when 700 damage per shot and 3-4 shots per second overtakes the damage rate of any ability in the game, while costing very little mana in comparison. Factor in the criticals and you've got a very serious threat. A 5k crit just p
I agree with this - there needs to be some kind of marker making it obvious where the DGs are. I also think that there should be some kind of balloons showing what debuffs are working on enemy DGs instead of (or in addition to) the current 'magic' animation graphics.
By support, it means the the presence of reg helps allies somehow. Support = maim+scope+AoE. Reg can hang back while teammates are in the fray and provide damage and slowing enemies while not taking damage himself. He's also out of range of enemy AoE. He's artillery.
Snipe is weak. I'm a reg noob. I don't use snipe past lvl 1, if at all. Reg can 1v1 most DGs if all his stat points go into combat, but he's no UB, and he's made of glass.
BTW, I agree with the point that regulus is a support DG. He can harass effectively too, but requires crit items in the late-game to make it effective. IMO there is a general problem in DG where it's hard to scale damage dealing as fast as you can scale damage mitigation and health. I think it buffing all damage dealing items would alleviate this problem.
This test seems pretty artificial. Did you test level scaling throughout the game or just at a specific level? Also, as others have pointed out, there are other upgrade paths for 1v1 situations. As for a reg build, try an AA reg. Mageslayer is a requirement for it to be good, esp. when coupled with narmoth's ring so you can lifesteal. Full wings and stat points is needed before pretty much anything else, save for lvl 1 snipe or mark. maim and scope should be upgraded to max eventually
