Well, its a world of fantasy it can be anything. Heck, I think an army of riders on top of creepy mutant guys could work. Other ideas for Mounts: Skeleton-beast/horse (a must) Giant spiders Flying sharks elephants (almost a must) dinosaurs Giant snakes (really any giant animal) elemental steeds (like firy horses or strange earthy quadraped) - not nessicarily a horse, but a multi-legged elemental

I forsee that many other games will start moving in the same direction as this game, in that they will start focusing on creating visual styles other than realism. Cell-shaded is fine and all, but I see more games *in the future* trying to achieve their own style and appearance. As far as what was said about zooming to a high-end first person shooter level? I imagine that was vetoed for a more stylized approch that seems like would require less re
For example: I want Bear Cavalry but I only have those silly horse creatures in my territory, so I decide to trade with my neighbor who has lots of bears. There are sooooo many things I could trade. I could offer horses, or gold, or iron, or to share my irrigation technology, or my iron smelting technology, or share some of my magic knowledge. I could even offer to declare war against his sworn enemy. How in the world would I be able to

I think creating your own spells is going too far as well. However, I completly believe that a "tree" should exist that includes cross-element spells. I mentioned some ideas for mixed spells in another thread, though I don't remember where exactly.

Awesome! we get more pictures. They look really good. I'm even more excited. (I want to know about the stain glass talk-to-the-hand one) My only complaint is there are not already medallions of bear cavalry or sky sharks.

I must say that stardock's current system is much better than any DRM. It provides quality content without having the hastle of DRM, thus increasing sales. If not including DRM means 10,000 more sales and 500,000 more pirated copies, thats 10,000 sales you wouldn't have otherwise recieved. And players don't have any DRM messing up their machines.

Now, when I'm out publishing games of my own, perhaps I'll feel differently. But right now the way I view it is that if I could make an awesome game and let everybody in the world play it for free, I would. However I need to eat and I need to pay for others that help me make the game to eat. So, I trust that if I make a really good game I will be able to satisfy the budget requirements of the game and get some saved up for the next title. I real

Its not so much an idea, but rather just a comment. I know some of my more hardcore Civ 4 fan friends hate the espianoge in that game because once the expansion pack added it, you could no longer view the world without putting an annoyingly hefty amount of resources into covert ops. While adding an interesting element to the game, the inability to turn it off also made it very frustrating. Its like if you are not counterspying, then you are pretty much screwed. While th

I think that mithrel armor and adamantine armor should of course be better than regular iron or steel. I also think that things like adamantine should also provide a certain amount of magic resistance as well, just because the magic in the metal is so potent.
It would certainly add a lot of fun tactics we could use, but it would also exponentially increase the amount of work that has to be done on art assets and th

I personally wouldn't mind classes per-se, provided there are enough that I feel that its very customizable. I would want it to only really reflecct the order in which they gain abilies or something. Seperate of race and stuff.
I've never played MoM, so I don't know how binding your wizard to shards worked there, so sorry if this is how it worked in MoM. Finding and defeating the garrison of a shard shouldn't automatically give you control over it. You should have to cast a spell with your channeler, which you should be able to do from a distance. Once the spell is successfully cast, the channeler should slowly gain access to the shard; and the farther the

I figured it would be similar to the nodes of MoM. You would find them, but their magic power draws the strongest of beasts to guard it. So you have the first trouble of just capturing it. I liked in MoM how you had to bind your wizard to them with a magic spirit, unlike AoW which you just kinda claimed. I think that having them visable from the begining vs. having to explore to find them should be an easy option to have for the game. I mean it coul

cut down on piracy? us? what are you talkin' about. Its just a bold move to have no DRM sure, if thats to what you are referring. There is no evidance there is higher piracy with stardock games than any other popular titles. You are right, piracy isn't going to go away on its own. Its not going to go away if you fight it. you can't stop piracy. Nothing, not even the most frustrating DRM
Best possible solution is the ability to define our own meshes (eg: NIFs) and thus our own bodies and animations. Pretty please???????
yeah, its called moding. And stardock seems to be very supportive of the modding community. That sounds like pretty easy plug-in mod via source forge (or whatever the elemental mod tools will be called).

I really liked the missions in Sins of a Solar empire. That being said, I think that if an AI player doesn't particularly like or dislike you, and you request for alliance or something. They should sometimes actually ask for something, like "go declare war on my enemy bob. I want to see you battle him before I trust you. Enemy of my enemy is my friend after all" and then actually fallow through later if you declare war. AT the same time, I

I'm in the "it should be turn-based" department. Though you should be able to chat with people outside the battle screen. O.o I actually wouldn't mind just the MoM system with a few mechanical and graphical upgrades. (just to add my 2 cents) In fact, I desire it! and would probebly be upset if it strayed too far from the classic MoM (or HoMM, because it is very similar) system

I don't mean to be the forum troll, but I don't want to leave any misconceptions. (hopefully this is adding to any balancing that stardock is working upon right now) The book I quoted before pointed out that the longbow caused the downfall because a peasant without expensive metal and trained horse could still take down a mounted knight without having to come within range of a lance. It devestated french knights during the 30-years war, and after that the french stopped re

NO! not caves, we shoud have alternate planes of existant Master of Magic style. Everybody uses underground. I mean, I wouldn't mind underground (since really the programing for it is the exact same as alternate planes, you'd just have different terrain doodats and stuff) but I REALLY want alternate worlds of existance.
