I don't know if I'm just not connecting or just no one is playing. I log into the lobby successfully, but I don't see anyone else.

Ok, I can win against Lincoln in a landslide, but Washington seems to beat me, effortlessly keeping me on the defensive the entire game. Anyone who's beaten Washington have some tips?
Is there a way around this until the patch? There is not. If you create your candidate, quit out of the game, and then go back into the game then he should be given stances on all issues, but outside of that there's really not much that can be done until the next patch as the fix has to come from the codebase.
So I need to create a new candidate and leave all issues at zero, then quit the game without playing a scenario or campaign and then log back in? Is that correct?
'So if you leave the issue at 0, you'll take your party's stance, correct?' That's the case now, but that will change with a future update.
Unfortunately I could not get this to work for me. I reset all my issues to zero and only spent points in two issues and left the rest at zero. On turn one, I was completely undefined (5 points in everything) except for the 2 issues I put points again, and once again McCain had tons of points in almost every issue. Is there a
Maxpower is a much more careful tester than me. I checked out his findings and they look accurate for the current build.I've got one extra data point for your analysis. If you put 1 point in every issue, restart, and play a campaign, you will start with 1's in everything. So any personal stance you start with will override the starting party stance completely. This might not be a bug, but it's related. That was definitely a bug and it is fixed but not in the update we released today. S
So if you leave the issue at 0, you'll take your party's stance, correct?
You should just buy another license, it's only 20 bucks! This game is much better than most $60 games out there, it's worth it! Plus, we need to support TPM 2008 to insure that there is TPM 2012!!!
A couple of users on this forum have helped me figure out a problem I was having with my custom candidate. The computer or a player playing with a pre-made candidate always seemed to start off with a huge lead in the issues. It turns out that for the pre-made candidates start out with bonuses (or negatives) on the issues based on party affiliation, but custom candidates do not get these bonuses. This may be working as intended, and if so that's very unfortunate and discourag
Also, spend most of the early game building up your awareness. Build as many HQ's as you can afford, the normal HQ's will start bring in money, so you don’t have to spend so much effort on Fundraising. A good role of thumb is to focus on awareness for the first half of the game, this is to make sure everyone knows you, then focus on the issues the second half.
I put a basic HQ in almost every state I plan to make a play for, so my awareness is close to maxxed by the
Are you using a custom candidate or one of the pre-defined characters?-KnightAV
Custom. Maxxed out Stamina and Charisma, lowered Experience to zero (I always have enough clout to get the endorsements I need regardless), everything else I left at a 4, 5, or 6. For issues, I start +41 in Improving the Economy, -21 in Higher Gas Prices, and +21 in The War on Terror, all 3 of which improve my standings with dems, reps, and independents. The rest I drop one p
Ok here's my basic strategy: -First 20 turns I mainly fundraise and build HQs to develop an infrastructure and income. I create one level 3 outreach and one level 3 consulting firm so by the end of the campaign I have unlimited access to endorsements (though I only take the Democrat endorsements to avoid alienating the blue states) and political operatives. -Once I have the VP money influx, I start plunking down TV ads in large states the I must hold (New York, California
For some states, like Florida, I could barely see the state itself there was so much stuff in it! One of the features we want to add in an update is a 'Scaling' option. Right now, as more peices appear on the board, they will slowly get smaller. We can put the speed of this into the hands of the user so the board stays as cluttered/clean as they would want it
In the manual it said there was a way to view all campaign assets, but I cannot find this feature. It wou
One of the reasons we limited the points to 100, is because you if you are not a honest person you could just go through the issues and make yourself 100% for everything that everyone supports, and 0 on anything that is more evenly split. This would give you a big advantage in the late game and kill game balance entirely. By limiting the issue points you can establish a platform to start from, and by using speeches, ads, and appearing on TV shows, you can build that platform into a tower.
I agree that the current situation with initial distribution of issue stances seems a little bit imbalanced. However, instead of players getting unlimited, how about just giving the opponent 100 also (or perhaps a sliding scale based on difficulty setting)?I think its more interesting and realistic for candidates to develop their stances over the course of the game rather than start out completely set on all issues. Right now it feels like you are just trying to catch up for the entire gam
I've found that coming out against the war in Iraq improves me in blue states and hurts me in red states. I'd say that's pretty realistic, no? But yea, I definitely think independents should at the most be neutral towards withdrawal, to say they are slightly against it is flat out wrong. -Trey
Yeah, that is not fair at all. Seems like the game is completely biased towards the Republicans. Even issues such as the Iraq war show independents in line with the republicans. Democrats and Independents are much more alike on key issues for 2008 (Economy, Iraq War, etc.). No, the game is not biased towards either. We had beta testers accusing us of being liberals and conservatives depending on what their ideology was. I've had people swear you can't win with Mccain vs. Ob
If McCain can spend something like 500 points taking various positive and negative positions on the issues, why can't I? For instance, he spends 90 points going negative on withdrawing from Iraq which should use almost all of his points, but he still takes many stances on other issues, some strong stances that use many points that he shouldn't have! With only 100 points, I can barely take any stance on all the issues at all! I've got 5 or 10 points at most in the issues I feel strongl
Downloaded from Impulse, yay! Now I've just got to figure out how to spend more than 100 points on the issues. If McCain can spend something like 500 points taking positive and negative positions on the issues, why can't I? With only 100 points, I can barely take any stance on all the issues at all!
