If you ever do want an explanation of how to use the Z-Axis, I've a thread in this same forum called "Z-Axis back in 1.096?" that provides one. Peace, -Itharus
Thanks, I looked through it before I enabled that feature. Perhaps I'll look again and see if I can't figure out what's causing the issue.

It's the furlings. Definitely the furlings. (sorry to all those who don't get it, it's from Stargate SG-1)
The "planet elevators" I've already gotten rid of... sure, they're nice, but they don't look like real cities anyways.... what else can afford to be lost?
Let me start off by saying I have nothing useful to contribute to this topic. Second, those planet elevators do not look like cities because they're not cities. They are, in fact, planet elevators. Basically, the actual city-like things are just space stations which are connected t

EDIT: It seems this problem has vanished in a puff of smoke. Nevermind this message I know that this isn't technically beta feedback, but since this problem is caused by a feature that only the beta has, I thought it would be appropriate. A few minutes ago, I tried the Z-axis controls, which (intentionally or not) were added to 1.096. I quickly found out that I had no idea how to use them, and I shut the feature off. Or rather, I removed the keybinding for it.
Will starbases have their own fighters and bombers which can be launched when under attack ?
I didn't think so at first (since there are hangers for that), but in the video you can clearly see some kind of opening at the top of the starbase. It's glowing green, however, so it may just be for decoration (or for something mind-blowingly awesome that hasn't been talked about yet).
By Rogann Posted October 11, 2008 11:50:08 I do not recall having read any explanation from a SD or GPG representative concerning that state of affair : is it so difficult to fix ? Please point us to a pertinent thread if such an explanation has already been given.
Isn't it pretty much a given that every bug posted in the Beta Feedback board is acknowledged by GPG or Stardock, whether or not they reply? I mean, if this bug were in the full game you

You're forgetting that this is far into the future. The size difference between a modern bomber and a carrier isn't that much, but the difference between a bomber and a cap ship in Sins is quite large (or at least, it should be if scale was represented correctly in-game). It's easy to imagine a group of bombers taking down a carrier in real life (partly because it's happened), but imagine 4 bombers trying to take down a massive capital ship with shields and dozens of batteries of guns

In RTSs, especially ones with the scale of SupCom, you can often just tell your army to attack and then zoom out, sit back, and watch the battle (obvi

Yeah. Something that innocuous may seem pointless to point out in the beta stage, but when the game goes gold, people will expect it to be polished. I know that if I had just purchased Demigod and discovered something like that in the final version, I would have doubts as to the quality of the rest of the game.

It's a strategy game; you either win (with your military or with diplomacy) or you lose (by the enemy's military). If you never lose, you always win. That is, of course, assuming you don't just quit right before the end of the game. :)

I'm relatively new to strategy games, so I don't have many (I included simulations, because as Kitkun said, they're by definition strategy games). Listed in no particular order: 1. StarTopia 2. SimCity 4 3. O.R.B. (a lot like Homeworld, except glitchy, buggy, horrendously unpopular, and relatively bland compared to other RTSs, but still good fun) 4. Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (not very good) 5. Command and Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath (even worse) 6. Si

I had this same problem a few months ago, when my graphics card (ATI Radeon X1900, you may have heard about its problems) started crapping out. In addition to the flickering in SoaSE, I experienced 3D artifacts in other games such as pillars stretching into the sky and strange spikes appearing on guns, vehicles, etc. Turns out a lot of the cards were manufactured with a faulty chip, and I was able to get a fixed X1900 for free. Of course, if you're not experiencing any other p

I hadn't even noticed that was on, and I usually do a thorough customization of options each time I update, reinstall, or buy a game. Now I feel stupid.

After I downloaded the beta, my color in-game is always green. Both my name and my symbol are still the same as they always are. No matter what color I pick, in game it's always green.. This is by no means a top-priority bug, but it is annoying (especially since the shade of green is ugly). Sorry if this has been posted before, but I did a search as well as went through several pages and didn't find anything about player colors.

With your reasoning I could say CnC3 copied both those games. Compare this chart to the OP's: GDI Fighting for world peace Nod Religious zealots from all areas of the globe Scrin Evil aliens that fight in numbers Granted, it's not perfect, but it pretty much fits the original idea. Anyway, as a previous poster said, not everything is a conspiracy.

Just not by Uzii? Sorry, I haven't been playing Sins lately, and thus haven't kept up with the modding community. That's great, because while I do like 7 Deadly Sins, some of the graphical changes are, well, horrible in my opinion. I'd like to go back to just more types of planets, n
Those images you saw were TEMPLATES, Textures will be added and they wont look bad, they will look pretty good!
I don't know if you're talking to me, but textures won't make a difference on the ships the OP linked to. The basic colors are already there, so its pretty easy to tell what the ships will look like. And I never said they were bad-looking ships. They're very good and whoever modeled them should be very proud of their work. I'm just saying that none of them look
We'll definately be seeing some changes to how Sins looks from the sounds of this.
Most of those changes just appear to be touching up various meshes and textures for more detail. I don't think they're actually gonna make any new ships or completely redesign current ships. Also, in response to the original poster: Honestly, the only one of those designs that even remotely looks like its from TEC is the Masamune Shirow. None of the rest even look like they belong
