From a purely financial perspective, Steam takes 30% of every dollar you make. That's effectively a 30% tax on the entire industry before you make a single dime. Epic takes 12%.
I wish it were possible to just purchase the game directly from Stardock and cut out the middlemen completely; then you could have 100% of the revenue.
3. Are you intending on working on the AI to develop a more sophisticated system? As the old AI did appear to be just cheats, and It did necessitate a Rush to get a Titan as opposed to more interesting strategies.
If you want fancy stuff like a more realistic opponent capable of strategic thought that can play the game properly and can use "more interesting strategies", that's what the "Internet Multiplayer" button on the main menu is for. Some guys even pla

We all love the game and have heaped praise upon it, but to make a better Sins-2, we need to identify what Sins-1 / Rebellion got wrong. This thread isn't intended to be about what additional features we might like to see, but rather about problems Sins-1 suffered from that we would like to see fixed for Sins-2. They could be persistent bugs that were never addressed or design flaws. My viewpoint is from the perspective of an online Team PvP pro player who plays in 5 on 5
I understand in multiplayer we want clear textures that indicate ship teams. It Rebellion there was a toggle to make ships display paints more prominently. I would hope to see something similar, that way we could toggle off the paints and show more of the metal.
Actually, in online multiplayer, at least in PvP, most people probably wouldn't be zooming in to enjoy the pretty scenery at all and would instead be zoomed out looking at icons. You can see what the game
So you can tell a factory to build light frigates until you tell it to stop, pausing if you run out of resources. Or, a ratio like 2 LF, 1 Siege, and 5 Corvettes, the repeat.
Oh, I like that idea. Also, one of the features I would like to see is being able to set factories so that when a new ship is produced, it has certain behavioral settings right out of the gate such as "hold position" not "go find an enemy sh
I would buy this game if I had to have it delivered by carrier pigeon.
Some people would probably like that if that meant getting a box with cover art like how we used to purchase games decades ago. Only problem is that many people no longer have CD or DVD drives in their computers; it would need to come on a USB stick.

What's chasing the Vasari? I think it's best left as lore shrouded in mystery open to people's imagination, giving players who care about such things something to speculate about similar to how the movie Blade Runner 2049 never answered the famous and enduring question, "Is Deckard a replicant?"

What Darvin said in Post #3 is spot on. Sins removed elements of micromanagement that never really added strategic elements to games but were more about frantic button-mashing micromanagement, allowing players to focus on strategy and tactics. I sometimes make fun of the old Civilization games for having to "build road here at this tile". After a while that gets really boring. Sins dispensed with the boring eco micromanagement and the frantic button mashing AMP

I think features that would help PvP players would help Comp Stompers, too, like custom map and mod autodownload, better friends management, being able to join games where a player has dropped, hav

I haven't kept up with things so I'm not sure what "Cider" is exactly (an engine?), but I hope that Unannounced game 2 [Cider] is Sins-2. It was teased on Facebook a week ago or so when a poll was put up about whether people wanted to have a campaign mode. If a Sins-2 were in development or planned, why all of the secrecy? Is there a concern that some other studio would rush out a competing game?

What about me (WHIPperSNAPper)? I don't make the list somewhere? It's incomplete and could probably be tripled in size.
Who is this for? Where does this come from? What are the criteria? Context.
It's a reference to the skill level of pro players who play in the (vanilla) 5v5's - 10 real guys, no AI's (TM).

A pro player's wishes for Sins-2 (aside from the obligatory engine optimizations, 64-bit, multithreaded, etc.) not necessarily in order: (1) Make few if any changes to the basic game play. The best way to screw up the sequel to a successful game is to start messing around with a winning formula. That doesn't mean that another race or two can't be added or that more planet types and logistical and tactical structures can't be added or that the tech tree can't be expanded, etc. It's

What is the newest version of Galaxy Forge? I went to use the one that's built in to my current Sins Install (the one with two side menus) and although it says I can set a planet to be one of the new planet types (barren, greenhouse, ocean, ferrous, etc.) the selected planet doesn't end up looking like the proper type of planet selected; it just looks like a barren, say. Is that just how it is - you can tell a planet to be Oceanic but it looks like a Barren in Galaxy Forge?&nbsp

IMHO the real problem is not the pros playing the 5s games. It's all of the people who play single player offline (who have the time to play online) and the people who come online and only play comp stomps with their friends. That's the reason why there aren't more games available for lower skilled players - because they're all playing comp stomps instead of each other. Alternatively, perhaps those newer players who are interested in online multiplayer PvP si

Wow, I didn't know that this forum was still alive until you said something about posting this in Steam chat. You should also post this at the /r/SOSE reddit and the Steam forums: https://www.reddit.com/r/SoSE/ http://steamcommunity.com/app/204880/discussions/
