Pirate Baron achievement? in Sins of a Solar Empire Stardock Forums

I colonized the Pirate Planet, but didn't get the achievement. Do I have to colonize during the actual game? Because I continued playing after winning.

How to get the "Pirate Baron" achievement in Sins of a Solar Empire Sins Forums

So I built a massive fleet and destroyed the Pirate Base. I then saved and quit the game. I didn't get the achievement award for colonizing the pirate planet (Which was actually a big asteroid). I colonized it after I had beaten the other team, so I'm wondering if I have to defeat the pirates while still in the campaign and not playing out after winning?

I bought my copy at Gamestop. The clerk had never heard of it, and tried to sell me one of their opened display case copies. I asked to get a sealed copy and we went in back and got one. I never trust those opened copies of the game...
