Per Brad's suggestion, here's a thread for our suggestions. Sounds like Stardock will improve this part of the game if we can come up with some good suggestions. So ADD yours people! Here are some of mine: When a state is voting, and after we've zoomed in have the game display an overlay that displays the state along with it's population and other details, pretty similar to the state info screen only add some room below for: runnin
Dearmad
You can save. Click on the in-game OPTIONs and then save/load options or something. It's there. Look harder.
Go through Stardock Central. You need their special web app to get it.
So this is intended then? Or just not common enough to comment on?
Higher intelligence works??? In debates??? Since when??? . Seems like charisma, fast talking and oration skills are more important.
hm. My Engalan is always pretty small and yet I still WIN.
Oh please... someone else think this is a good idea. It would break up the otherwise flat terrain of the game and make for some unexpected fun. I think.
You can zoom in using a mouse wheel... maybe +/- ?? Yes: "C" selects him!
They're all listed- so I select one. Then I select my oipinion. Done. I don't think you go through each one everytime... I could be wrong, but that seems like an awful lot to do. I've had no problems in NH, there's my candidate... click... move him. What DO you see?
Wait, we are?? Huh?? I though when you make an ad campaign you make it for ONE issue at a time....
Brad, That's a GREAT idea too! Would be fairly simpl to implement too, I imagine... just a little hard to balance. But I was making my suggestion in that other thread so early in the game only because I imagined it would be fairly simple to implement AND balance (since it could be a simple off thing too). I look at it this way: the terrain of the game right now is modified by only two people- me and the enemy. It's a little flat
Good to know... So far it's pretty darn bugfree, and with the vaunted (yeah I'd say vaunted) SD support for their games... I expect GREAT things for thisgame, GREAT things I tell you!
Cool. Already a diplo with GalCiv, Brad. :o) Now, how about my other idea about the random events occassionally bringing minor issues up to the fore to keep us candidates on our toes. :o)
Well, keep doing ads...
Yahooooooo... they FOUND DA BUG!!!!! :o)
The interviews isn't the media bias- it comes into play in how effective your ads are I think.
I got two movie directors, placed them both in FLA, got free TV ads...
It doesn't save them. I alt-tab out to the other program and past them. They are saved in your paste buffer/cache. You have to right click in an image app. to get the image back. And you can only do one at a time unless you use some other screen capture method- which Paint Shop Pro (or whatever you use) has.
Bump. This idea might not be too tough to execute by SD once any bug issues are out of the way... Any official "ickI don't like it" or "Yeah it's neat but..." from the frog?
Oh c'mon... I'll even write the events. How about: "Reporter from the New York Egg writes best selling tell-all book about his dealings with McTorky's McNorgy Sandwich! Suddenly public embraces Sanctions with Iran issue! Rumor is McNorgy wings originate from Iran!" I got a million of 'em... and I think it would spice up the campaign!
Well the AI chose Barbera freaking BUSH in my game where I things suddenly went south very fast.... and I had Clinton, who is VERY experienced. With my 10 charisma, etc... we should have managed to do fine. And even cheating with unlimited money and about 50+ TV adds running on all sorts of issues .. ther was nothing working.... Barbara Bush isn't THAT savvy. Icky incestuous ticket.
Screenshots: I just hit Print Screen. Then I open up Paint Shop Pro, right click. Save as new image. And do what I want to the image from there- I've been exporting them as PNG's to compress them. I'm VERY glad SD is looking into this problem. The EASE with which I cream any opponent using any character already in the game at Normal difficulty is in stark contrast to how I cannot win no matter how I cheat (cntrl-m for money) with my own
Yay!!!!!!! Hope the bottom can be plumbed here.
Seems like the more money you spend on ads the better things go inevitably... but maybe, just maybe, there could be diminishing returns principle involved here, or maybe even a saturation point where the public begins to turn on you because they're SICK of seeiong your ugly mug blah blahing about issue X for the umpteenth time? Or maybe there could be some price to pay for when you have too much money (or relatively lots more than your enemy)
Oh and the one odd thing about my personality was I created it. Played a game with it. Then I edited the personality and then all hell broke lose whenever I played with that personality. I edited him each time I played.
