Where did I say towers in Demigod should clone their implementation in DotA? I'm simply giving an idea of how the closest matched game to Demigod deals with a situation and which factors are positive from its methods. I'm not sure why this is such a problem. Similarly, I am sick and tired of people slating DotA just for the sake of it, without any reasons to back up their apparent hatred of it. I'm absolutely interested to hear ways in which elements of DotA can be

When playing today, I noticed that there was a trebuchet floating above my lane. Not sure how it occurred but there was a lot of stunning going on at the time from both sides ;) Also - while I'm not 100% sure about this - I don't think the graphic was on the actual rook any longer (there were two and at least one of them didn't have it on his back, but I can't be sure if they had teched it or not). It disappeared fairly quickly, possibly when the Rook died. <a href="http://i91

Yeah remembered that after having a think later; indeed Regulus is similar in that respect. The strength of towers in DotA and the effectiveness of the Sniper against them does make it a slightly different situation though.

In fact, it doesn't say he should necessarily 'outrange' towers & structures, just that he can snipe them from a distance.
Still i think we can upgrade towers in the later build of the game thus may have increase range or damage or HP upgrades.
That will be cool if so.

Yeah right you are, it does say in the Hero's description. In this case, I think it's a bad idea with the current implementation of the towers ;) (especially since I would argue that the Torch Bearer is currently better at taking on towers than Regulus right now).

While I and others have picked up on the effectiveness and implementation of towers as they are at present, here's a summary of issues with towers from my perspective: - Hero abilities affecting buildings - I mentioned this in my first impressions post, and it's probably the most major problem with towers for me at the moment. The fact that abilities can affect towers makes them extremely easy to take down. With the Torch Bearer, for example, you can simply freeze a tower, sta

The failed assertion you're experiencing is exactly the same one as I was getting when I had my keypress crashing problem ( http://forums.demigodthegame.com/323073) . In this case, I would suggest the same resolution to you - close applications in your systray and test again. Finding the exact problem is going to take a little longer to pinpoint for you since your issue occurs 20 minutes into a game, but it gives you something to try out. I'd recommend closing everything p

While I'm in favour of recipes making a return, I would also totally accept another system which offers customisation and does it as well as the recipe system. Knowing which items/upgrades to go for depending on the situation of a battle gives a totally different element to the game, and it's not a case of just 'spend the most amount of gold to get the best item'. Whatever the customisation method, you should have multiple viable options to aim for - there should be no 'be all and end

Well people, I have some good news (in my situation, anyway). I started closing some of the tasks in my systray and loading Demigod up to see if on the offchance that one was screwing things up. However, after going through all the prime suspects (virus scanner, keyboard software etc.), I eventually closed some random disk cleanup software that I'd installed some time ago and now Demigod doesn't crash any more! So, if you're still having problems with crashing on keypresses, start clo

I was playing a game earlier as the Torch Bearer and had about 10% energy left. There was an energy-giving item on the floor nearby (one that was dropped by a hero who died - I don't remember what the icon was) so I picked it up. Consequently, my energy refreshed correctly on my own UI (above the skills), however, it did not refresh the energy bar tied to my player character on the battlefield, which continued to show that I only had around 10% left. As far as I remember, I could stil

I agree, and put this in my own first impressions post. I find on many occasions I'm standing there creeping then suddenly notice that either an allied or enemy Regulus has been standing right next to me and has probably been there for some period. He blends in like a spy :P

If you've never been a regular DotA player that kinda makes your opinions a bit imbalanced and perhaps inaccurate in some cases (2 hours for an 'average' DotA game is way off the mark, for example). There are also a lot of elements in the game which are similar to DotA already, so it would be futile at this point to try and denounce its design. I, too, don't want Demigod to be exactly the same as DotA, but it really does have so many great elements to offer that shouldn't be ignored d

I've only played a few games (and without hotkeys due to crashing) but here are my first thoughts. Bear in mind that I have played a lot of DotA in the past, and yes I do realise we're in the first phase of a beta. I also won't talk about things like the Rook being OP :P : Good things - The gamestyle - I can see that it's definitely been developed with the intention of improving upon DotA, which is awesome. - Accessibili
