I haven't played alot of MP with Steam games--but don't you login through STEAM itself, and then start your game which then uses the steam authentication to play your game? In otherwords, with DG, I login to Impulse (to check for updates), then I launch the game, then I login AGAIN through the GAME with my impulse info. With steam, I just login to steam, then launch the game--I only have to trust that the steam programmers have kept my s

No one with half a brain listens to it anymore.
To be fair, if a site that usually rates stuff really high rates something low it makes people pause. It'd be like if FOX News said something bad about a republican administratio
The only problem with that, as was in DoTA, is that sometimes it became beneficial for a team when their teammates left. Then again, that was because items played an omega-terrible ultra role in the game, so the dropping of a teammate allowed one hero to dominate the entire enemy team, depending on the hero. I guess it's not as much of a problem in this game as items and heroes aren't as unbalanced as DoTA.
Quoting lemmingjesus, reply 10You were doing so well until you said FPS. Try again. No source games (Other than L4D) have DedServs, Call of Duty series don't have DedServs, I beleive UT3 has 1 per game mode? The point is dedicated servers are not required nor are they as often as you'd like to believe. They simply need to futz around with the matchmaking and connection code a bit more until it's just right.

Because this system is actually fantastic, all you have to do is get your stuff configured right. Once the community starts figuring it out (and once they resolve the few remaining issues) then this game will be great online!!!
The only problem is that not everyone CAN configure their stuff right. Some routers are just incompatible or some ISPs/Universities have firewalls that won't let the ports be forwarded.<
I played over 300 for dow2 my first week, yet i can even hit 100 in demigod cause of broken MP coding.
DoW2 was broken until like a week or two ago. Yeah, you could play but TS Matching was broken, population cap bug made matches unplayable and Tyranid were so OP'd it wasn't funny. Dunno how you could stand to play 300 matches.
DoTA only lasted 10-15 minutes if the entire team left after they didn't get first blood. Otherwise a fully played game lasted a good 40+ minutes.
Yeah I don't see any need for levels to go above 20...none of my skirmish games have I gotten above like...15. Anything more and you're really dragging the game out. It's like complaining that the scoreboard only shows double digits in a football game that's currently 104 to 32.
I'm getting these crackling noises as well, but only towards the end of a game. The sound is crystal clear and fine for the first 20 minutes or so. It's usually the push on the enemy base where crackling starts. I have a Creative Soundblaster Live! I believe the drivers are up to date...checking on that.
Well the AI hasn't been facing no-win situations when it runs a way from me half the time. Like I said, I was fighting against 3 armies at one planet. Two of them were allied yet they still kept hopping in and out like they were training for Easter Bunny duty.
I'm a bit confused, will the Siege SPAM be reduced? I mean, I find it boring facing mostly the army of buff siege frigates, but it'll be no better if there's an army of weak siege frigates in their place...
I'm looking forward to the "Advanced Phase Inhibitor" especially after some of the fights I've been having. I've had one or two big battles so far. I DID have one like this: An allied enemy fleet jumps in from one lane and starts fighting my army. I attack it, it jumps back to a nearby womrhole. At the same time an enemy from the other lane jumps in and starts siege spamming my planet. I attack, they flee. FIRST ENEMY IS BACK! At this point I've moved two flee
