[quote]The free market is far more democratic than the government is. Special interests rule what laws get passed. By contrast, the cost of products, the quality of products, etc. are all determined based on millions of voluntary purchasing decisions of a free citizenry. Do you think your one vote for President or senator has as much affect on the quality of your near by highway as say your buying choice of say a hat? Poli Machine is by far one of the most fun games i played... if i had to add something to make it better... i'd be these things. -Create a Candidate -Create a Party -More types of political operatives -Proposals -More than 3 parties (up to 5-6?) -Internet grassroots campaign to be added -Election should be more like "on TV" (long mode, u could choose the old style as a "short" mode ) -Backrounds when making a candidate, they can have backround attributes that
Do I asume anyone owes anyone? Nope. But I think some social issues are being ignored... the debate is complex. I cannot defend completely the idea of "taxing the rich" but I do support it. My logic is as such... In society we must contribute SOMETHING, why not make it proportional or take from those who have such excess it really isn't "missed". So they pay less than the other guy (being local business who cannot really outsource),.." I think the assumption that a business will do whats best for society is about as bad as assuming t
the analogy is crystal clear. Yes, the apple is taken. Yes it is given to someone else. I have zero problem with that. Distributing wealth is a good thing. If that apple goes to a hungry family, good. If it goes to a scholarship for a young person, good. If it goes to help the poor, good. For me the "analogy" needs a little more depth. Its easy to make a point when all the variables are excluded and only selected variables are focused on. We won't agree... but it's nice to see differing opinions
