The firewall is only one thing along the "network path" that might be blocking traffic on those ports. Please download and read the guide I wrote for TPM networking linked to from the OP of this thread . thanks, the Monk

the game files actually need more than 500 mb in order to de-compress during install. Having less than a few GB free on your HD (I'm assuming this is also your OS harddrive) is generally speaking a bad idea anyway (as it won't allow windows to increase your pagefile size as necessary). Delete more stuff!! :)

You and the "other user" must make sure you're running the same game version. The easiest way of doing so would be to use IMPULSE to check for an update. ( www.impulsedriven.com ) thanks, the Monk

When you say you've "opened" those ports, I'm assuming you mean on a software firewall on your PC. If you're behind a router (or a dsl/cable modem which also functions as a router) you'll need to "forward" the traffic on those ports to your PC as it's not even getting to your PC at the moment. Only "opening" the ports on your PC is HALF of the step you need to complete. Please download the guide I linked-to in the following thread: [link="https://forums.politicalmachi

Lord_Dark_Cloud, Some firmware on some routers will have issues with forwarding what it sees as the same ports (eventhough they will be different protocols) to the same PC on two seperate lines. Having said that, you shouldn't have to forward anything on your router in order to LAN-play with your wife. Did you both check the "LAN" check-mark in the upper-right of the "multiplayer lobby"? Then in the "Sever/Host" line put the local IP address of your wife'

Yes you will need to allow traffic to reach your machine on two ports: UDP 6000 UDP 6112 Please check the OP in the following thread for my guide with regard to this subject: [link="https://forums.politicalmachine.com/315473"]thread[/link] thanks, the Monk

@ liberalismwithagrenadelauncher, 1. start port and end port should both be the same (make two entries), one for one port and another for the other one. 2. Are you looking at your computer's IP address or the WAN IP address of the Netgear? If that's the IP of the Netgear, all that means is that that's the IP your router is assigned by your ISP. You'll need to go back to the first step in my guide and find the IP of your computer to enter it as the IP you're want
I am connected through a DSL connection. My phone cord connects to a router/modem thing that spits out an ethernet cord and wireless signal. I guess it acts as a modem and a router. Is there a remedy to this?
Yes you need to perform the "port-forwarding" as described in my guide. Your dsl modem/router is stopping the traffic for the two ports required, it needs to "forward" said traffic to your PC. Go through my guide step-by-step and you shouldn't
I have the ports and the program set to be allowed through Firewall. I have attempted port forwarding and still no luck. Somebody please assist me.
Do you know if your cable/dsl might also be functioning as a router? You might have allowed the ports through your software firewall(s) to your PC, and allowed/forwarded the traffic past/through your router, but if your cabled/dsl modem is also performing NAT then the traffic isn't even getting to your rout

@Pedro9188, It sounds to me like your Impulse needs updating, as well as your game version maybe? Try running Impulse as "administrator". (ie. right-click on Impulse "run as" etc.) @dude106 You don't need to know your "external IP". Please contact me via xfire (the1monk) and we'll get this sorted for you, or if you have TeamSpeak I'll be glad to talk you through the steps via my TS Server. thanks, the Monk
