Is there a way to remove mercenaries from the game without disabling the DLC that also brings the Torians? There was a post here a long time ago that commented out Mercenary ships in some .xml file that done the job, but the attached file is no longer available. I'll gladly do it myself, if someone point me in the right direction :)

Hello! I have the Ceres dlc and I cannot find a way to start a game on this map. I've watched a let's play on youtube, and there I see it could be accessed by skirmish menu. (there is an option for new ceres skirmish) I do not have this option in my game. I have installed and activated: Almanac DLC Blue Chip Ventures DLC Ceres Initiative DLC The Patron and the Patriot DLC Jupiter's Forge Expansion Pack I ha
Heya! First off, I was watching the game since forever... around the time it was announced, actually... but never got it for some reason, untill recently. Happened to make the decision to grab Jupiter Forge and most of the dlc just days before the summer sale hit, but I find myself not minding paying the full price for everything. I am having great fun with the Mars and Jupiter campaigns and blue chip ventures. So thank you for making an amazing game! :) Bit of feedback
double post, sorry!
IMHO you should have to choose your Ideology in the game setup - it's part of 'who' your race is, along with all the other setup options. Then during the game, making choices that match your ideology should give rewards that improve over time - boosts to morale, productivity etc - your people are pleased their leaders choices reflect the values of their race as a whole. Making a choice that goes against your race's i
Is it even possible? I don't mind messing with xml files. Generally, when trying to create a new star system I end up with, for example, a sun called Zorya. Then the planets around it are all automatically named Zorya I, Zorya II, Zorya III. I don't want that. I would like to have a system like altarians, for example, with a main planet name different from the star name and different from secondary and dead planets in the system. (Altaris orbited by Altaria and
I like the Imperium the most. Their quests were interesting, I liked the idea of infighting and several 'factions' and fragile alliances trying to stay afloat. I also liked the visual style of their units and the hero a lot, even though the hero mechanics are hard to make good use of in larger formtions.
My wish list: 1)More detailed random map generation. Something like we had in Legendary Heroes, with ability to specify the various terrain %, number of minors regardless of map size, maybe even number of hero statues (thought that might make balance a bit tricky). Definately more detail on map gen tho, please! I don't see why you cant select 5 minors on a small random map, when some pre-made tiny maps have 6 of them. 2)Bit more agressive wildlife ai
It's like old altair rush abylity, if you use up all your movement and press it, you can move more.
For free updates, I'll be happy with just balance and bug fixes. That said, I'd welcome some minor diplomacy tweaks with rivals (I find it far too easy to ally with them, but it might just be me). Perhaps make the quests they give you result in a choice between a favor or keeping some kind of unique reward to yourself? For example Ceresa's bones could be a city's essence boosting artifact... I'd also welcome an ability influence random map generation like i
Edit: Try to check your spam folder, for some obscure reason my discount code ended up there, even through I have never marked Stardock emails as spam!
Right, thanks guys :) Feel a little foolish now, I was under impression that without opt in the game was at beta 1 state or something similar, thank you for clearning it up!
Hi, I have owned Gal Civ III for a while now, but only just now decided to try the beta, and ran into a problem. I simply do not have the option to opt-in to one when I right click Gal Civ III in steam library, go to properties, beta tab and look for the option. Picture below: Any help would be appreciated. Note that I can opt-in for betas for other games (for example I can see that Age of
Hey guys, have a question. Does Distant Stars have a Titan level reset on Death incorporated it in? If not, can a minimod addon from a larger Enchanted 4X mod work with it, by the chance? Thanks a bunch :)
Going to try it out, thanks a ton!!
Hello, I have tried to inquire about this on the modding forums, but hasn't gotten a definitive reply. I have bought and played the DLC a couple of times, but now I want to come back to the mod (Distant stars) that isn't compliant with the DLC. I would like to get rid of the DLC, because, imho, the mod's planets, research and balance changes are more enjoyable. How do I go about this? Thanks in advance.
Hey guys, can I use the disable DLC mod to play the Distant stars mod, that hasn't updated to DLC yet?
Hm, is there a way to disable the dlc?
Hey guys, I used to love this mod back before rebellion came out, then hasn't been playing much of sins. Trying to catch up here, and judging the latest replies DS looks buggy for the latest non beta + DLC. Could I get a recap from the devs on how this is expected to run on 1.52 rebellion + dlc, known issues and such? Thanks much!
As long as you guys install the files Heavenfall provided couple posts back (it's a model and a hook up for the editor), you'll be able to see the wheel in the builder's forge and use it when making your own buildings. To make it rotate you going to have to animate it yourself though (it's an option on the same pannel where you play with object scales) And as long as the end user has the model in their mods folder (which will be included with the mod since at least one us is u
Thanks!!! It's perfect, the grey texture strip looks like it belongs too! Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOp4f_O2tLU
M. Agrippa, you give me far, far too much credit when it comes to the Particle cauldron... any time I fire it up, it's a full-blown up war waiting to happen, and I don't win it all that often. [e digicons]:D[/e] Not possible to make a true 3d object-like effect... all emitters are flat, and while beams can be rotated to construct something akin to a wheel object, they'd suffer the same problem... they'd be rotating around their own middle instead of the composite whole's middle.
Yup, can do. I'll keep the swords and play with the increased size, as well as trying out side-wise spikes for the warrior temple. What I can't do is making the spiky wheels rotate in the garrison :(. The limitation with of current animations is that no matter around which axis objects are rotated, you cannot specify the exact point around which they rotate... it's always the middle of the object. So I can't make several objects behave as a singular whole... can only make individual s
Righty, so I looked over my checklist earlier, and it looks like I am roughly half way through with the golem tileset, sans build tiles, (which I'm sure I'll regret putting off till later at some point, but this point hasn't arrived yet :P). Current plan is to finish all the 'ready tiles', do some polish/check for fixed height/scale issues, and then do the built tiles... Right now it looks like arcane improvements have some kind of combination of either/or both spiral towers and
All standard humans are borning, true :). Floating armor idea is cool, I think I'd like to see that! Bone orges return would be interesting too... though dragons are already in game. Hm... creatures. Is there anything in game that can be adapted as fae for kingdoms? Would fit with lush greens environments kingdoms are in.
