And ironically, a lot of that has done before it was done (tyranids before zergs, endless mythological creatures before fantasy creatures before sci-fi creatures). Nothing's really original except for thinking it through, having it make sense, and doing it well. Just come up with an idea that hasn't been done to death that you like and makes sense, and flesh it out well. If you do it right, the new race will just belong in the galaxy, and that would be awesome .
Yeah, ag

The problem is that most of it has been done before. Elves, Dwarves, Orks, Zergs, Insects, robots, all sorts of beasts, even space dolphins (SoTS, which wasn't all that great to be honest.) Now if the Devs could could come up with something VERY original, that would be great. Of course sins is an awesome game as it is, any addition of a race would make it even cooler. I would love to see something like out of Alien series... Not too many RTS franchised on that yet. I
Yup, I was in that game on the other side. I specifically focused my research on unlocking Insurgency. Game was going fine until I got a minidump
TEC: Cap ship factory, Queue a KOL Battlecruiser, send it to the closest planet right away; Crystal, Metal extractors; 4 Explorers, set them to auto explore; 1 Colonizer, 7 Light frigates until ship cap runs out. By now we have a good enough starter fleet to easily and quickly colonize closer planets, as well as defend from initial attacks. Don't forget to upgrade infrastructure of captured planets at least to 2 (1 for asteroids) or money will run out fast. (Be
lol! Well Frasers, people are starting to panic!! Still, I beleive patience is a virtue here, I'm sure we'll all have our keys by evening. That 10 player game still on today?? :D
I don't know what you are talking about, My DL speed is between 450-600 kb/s. At this rate it won't take more then half hour for the DL. If only I had the key now!! :)
research Long Range Jumps, select a ship and right click on the star you want to jump to.
No problem at all, even now its awesome to watch Sins Battles
True, but the cinematic view would definitely add to the epic feel.
How about a cinematic button? Added to the top UI
That would be perfect! (You weren't joking, right?) :)
Hey Blair, Here's an idea. You know how there's an option of viewing additional bunch of information by holding alt (Planet names, etc)? Perhaps you guys could add a button that would allow hiding all of the icons (and maybe even planet gravity wells) allowing the user to observe the cinematic of a battle, with the convenience of returning to the icon view quickly and easily without the hassle of going into the options?
I must join Micaletti in saying that Sins is by far the best space based RTS I have ever played. And it's only Beta 4! Just finished a four hour game against 5 opponents and the game ran as smooth as no other game ever did. Not a single crash, not a single slowdown on the highest of settings. I am extremely impressed. No doubt every battle I went through was on a scale not met by any other game before. No doubt the weapons, explosions, textures and models are all epic, just l
I don`t know if this has been adressed but here goes. My system specs: Windows Vista 64bit Intel Core 2 Dual 2.4 GHz Processor 2 GB RAM 512 MB XFX Nvidia 7700 Series Graphics Card DirectX 9.0c Broadband Internet Connection The game actually runs better and better with every release. My compliments to the programming dept for all the good work. Last game I played was with two hard AI and one medium on Gateway. Right now it runs perfect un
