Yes Milksama, Ken at Stardock Support has got me up and going again. Thanks for the followup. MitchE323

Thank you Philly0381 - @DrJBHL, no it isn't version 7, it is version 6. Thanks, if no one gets here based on Philly's post, I will contact support.
Oh sorry about that - I formatted and reinstalled Windows without realizing I was out of activations on my Window Blinds program. Mitche323
Hello, is anyone available to reset my activations? Thanx Mitche323
Thanks buddy, I appreciate it.
Is there anyone available that can reset my WindowBlinds activation limit? I formatted to remove a malware and didn't realize I was out. thanks much. Mitch
Some systems have an Recycle Bin on Desktop setting from the "View" tab in Folder Options, which is in the Control Panel. If you do not have that, you can use the "Desktop" check box for Recycle Bin in TweakUI.
Well I use IE6 as it is the only browser that WindowBlinds actually skins correctly and on XP with SP3 is close enough to the security level of IE7. So if you want us to upgrade to IE7, can at least WindowBlinds be also upgraded to skin IE7 fully? Example; Longhorn Slate 4051, with IE6 has a completely clean look but with IE7 has two lines mis-skinned between the title bar and the toolbar. https://www.w
If she sees nothing wrong with it, ask her what she would think if it was a single father still sleeping with boys that age - or a single father sleeping with daughters that age. Sometimes people can not see it till they look from the outside in. Anyway, those boys are damaged already.
WooHoo I'm Plethora-ized! :CONGRAT:
Bebi, I hope you didn't waste your one lucky strike on that download - you could have been buying a lotto ticket at that very moment. ;p But anyway thanx much. Z71, I hope you will upload it right away, and work on the updates whenever you can. But whatever works best for you - I can wait. You know, I was searching for that skin (Google) and there are really quite a few widget type items designed for it. (All had your permissions Z71). Anyway, that just shows how popular that skin is. Than
Bebi, are you serious? What is the link?
Oh wow, what a shame Z71. Plethora was a real solid piece of artwork, congratulations on that if it makes you feel better. Who knows, maybe someday you will decide to redo it. Take some comfort in that it meant enough to me to go looking for it. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Mitch
https://www.wincustomize.com/zoom.aspx?skinid=5018&libid=1 This is one of my favorite skins - but I can not seem to find a working download link. Plethora by Z71. I lost my copy somewhere, somehow, while saving items before a format. Is the skin no longer available? thanks in advance, MitchE323
Kitty's opening post opens the door and gives 'Masters' a permission to speak perhaps in a way they may otherwise not. It's usually pretty hard for someone to just say "Well, I am a Master and so this is my advice". I would welcome any advice in such a setting and not interpret it as 'ego'. If that were the case, no Masters could even reply in the thread. Let's see now, from reading all this; Remember everything is just someone elses opinion - don't mention skins or skinners good or bad
What I am really curious about is; why is it that when genuine talent shows up, it sometimes just disapears? I will give a couple of examples - there are two skins by mtechnik that at the time were way ahead of everything else.......and then he just disappears? Also, Michael Brandt with a bunch of skins that showed emerging expertise... and whatever happened to him? I honestly thought about learning to skin myself - until I saw mtechniks first skin DiverseXP. And then I woke up, lol.
I think that the better masters have a unique ability of using subtle blends of graphics and fonts that enhance your computer use. They seem to understand when too much is too much. Some skinners seem to act like computer useage is some evil thing that is just getting in their way of showing what they can do. Analogy; If I take my car in for a paint job, I do not want the Mona Lisa painted on the windshield.
I was a 'once a week' guy or even more for a long, long time. I downloaded Spectrum (Vienna2) by vStyler 8 months ago and believe it or not, it is still up. Oh, I do try out just about all the new skins as they come, but always revert back to Spectrum. It actually seems like my 'default' look now, haha. Thanx vStyler!
Interesting that on a skinning site, so many prefer the uglyed up menus and toolbar that Fx has. I use IE, why? cause it skins better......
Sorry my bad - I found it - you are correct.
In searching for wallpapers, at deviant art they have a descriptive search. You can search for "water, sunset" and get all wallpapers that have water and a sunset. Or search for 'trees' and you get wallpapers with trees. They also have groups of wallpapers - fantasy, landscapes, etc. etc.
Well the difference is like night and day in the manner that MeSleeper and Chazcon present themselves. IMHO there is absolutely nothing wrong with anyone presenting their point of view in the manner that MeSleeper has. Much of what he states is spot on. Could he gain a few points by losing words like 'bloatware' and 'junk'? Sure, but no one should have to tippytoe across eggshells to that degree. I've perused his other postings and he even asked permission to tweak skins on his own personal mach
Well at the danger of ruining my 'being lucky' streak at one-in-a-row, I will recco a security product for ya - Sandboxie. I am a frequent poster over there and the folks there are just like here - just wanting to help and talk a little shop. Myself and many others can help you though the 'learning curve'. It is freeware but there are additional features that are more than just fluff for a mere $25. I recently made this post, (just so you get the idea). http://sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.p
I agree with everyone else that this particular guy really did not want any real help at all. And every time I have ever had any issues with WB, the support has always been spot on. But on to the cause of the original problem, there are at times some odd things that happen with some skins and it seems that nothing seems to work fixing those odd things. But I have found something that seems to work for me every time something is amiss within the way a skin displays. There are usually fou
Thanx guys, I know (now) that buying WindowBlinds doesn't reset the activations. The thing is, I didn't know it then. And when the install said that the activation limit had been reached, I just assumed that I was playing the cards I had dealt myself and rebought it. It's only $20 for a top notch program so it's not a biggy. Only once I had a problem with the program and in talking with an extremely helpful girl at Stardock Support, she walked me through the problem and we got to talking and onl
