Hello. Since Fences 3 I've had the same same issue. Now I have a new PC, Fences 4 1.0, and still the issue remains, which convinces me the problem is in the code.
This looks remarkably like a question I asked in the 4.0.5.21 beta thread ... which received no replies. This seems to be a long-running bug in Fences that I was hoping 4 would fix, too.
I was hopeful that the new beta might fix a bug that has been in Fences since version 3 (one of the only reasons I paid to update to version 4, which still has the bug). Every time I update my video card drivers, I have to reboot my system because Fences forgets how to display its fences at full resolution. You can see before and after desktop screenshots here in an Imgur post . I've got a "sidebar" with Rainmeter and Tweetz, and my icon fe
I've got an annoying issue that has been in Fences since 3, and remains in 4. Any time I update my nVidia video drivers, Fences resets to a smaller resolution (using maybe 3/4 of the screen) as the new drivers initialize. They don't rescale to fit the screen until I reboot. My monitor's resolution is 2560x1440, though I'm 95% certain I had the same problem with my previous monitor (1920x1200), and I'm running Windows 10 Pro x64.

I'm using Fences 4.0.0.3 in Windows 10 Pro (x64), build 19044.1645. I think I'm experiencing a bug, since this doesn't seem to be something that people found an obvious solution to when I posted it as a separate topic in the forum . In short, I can't move any icons! I can move and resize fences by unlocking them, but I can't change the order of icons or move them be
Here's an example of my problem, captured in ShareX:
Right click on your desktop to View scroll down to Lock Fences and un check If checked now you can move and or delete. Check again to lock into place.
Unfortunately, that's not it. As I said, unlocking the fences allows me to move or resize fences, as it always has, but I still can't move any of the icons around (from one fence to another, or re-order icons within a fence).
I upgraded from Fences 3 to Fences 4 yesterday, and now I can't seem to move any icons from one fence to another, or even to a new position within a fence. I can drag icons and the move, but as soon as I drop them in a new location, they go right back to where they were. I assume I'm missing some new setting, but I looked and can't find anything that would seem to cause this behavior. I tried unlocking the feces, but just like with Fences 3, that only allows me to move and
The Arilou are definitely in the game though they don't identify themselves as the "Arilou" yet. They're non-infringing ones supposedly.
All you have to do is look at the StarDock Store to see that both the Arilou and Chenjesu are featured in the game to some degree, even if they're just in Fleet Battles-only DLC.
I don't have much to add, but I wanted to thank you for the detailed explanation and lengthy discussion on the Star Control IP dispute. I had been following Reiche and Ford's posts occasionally, having been a huge fan of Star Control II when it was first released, but I wasn't aware the the other side of the story had been published in such detail until I asked about it on this forum and was directed to this thread. It's dismaying to see how much trouble has been caused over this
Same problem occurs pretty regularly with Dragon Age: Origin. It's definitely not limited to Fallout 3 (which has other issues in Win7).
If a Fence is at the top of the screen, its label automatically moves to the bottom of the fence, which is nice. However, the top of the fence is still associated with the "move fence" function. The label side is ALSO associated with the "move fence" function, as you'd expect. Unless a user chooses to lock his fences (adding a couple steps to the process of expanding a fence to add an icon), this can be annoying. For example, if I have a mostly-maximized window (that's
JMB - I do have icons set to align to a grid, but when the resolution changes (specifically, when exiting Fallout 3), it moves icons outside of fences into positions that are occupied by fences. If a new icon gets created (e.g. I just tried saving a webpage as a test), the icons do indeed get created outside the fences, in the first upper-left-hand spot with an open space.
I just installed Fences after having some issues where I needed to go into Safe Mode, which reset my resolution and moved my icons all over the place. Having something to restore them is nice. I'm using Windows 7 x64 Pro with the latest free version of Fences. However, I'm having problems, specifically with Fallout 3. I run my desktop at 1600x1200, and Fallout 3 in the rather nonstandard resolution of 1280x960 (higher than 1024x768, still smooth, and proper aspect ratio). The Fa
I'd like to echo ozo's question... This was posted almost three weeks ago, and it seems to say that the new build was due out within a week or two. Given that other priorities apparently prevented this from happening, is there a new ETA?
I just opened Stardock Central to see if there might be a new revision of the TA beta, and I saw that there was a minor revision of GC2 itself available. When I clicked on the release notes, though, I just saw the general release notes for 1.50 back in May. Is there anyplace I can see what was fixed or updated in this minor release from within the last few days?
I was incorrect - the missing graphics do change on a per-load basis. For some reason, I had the same missing graphic for three consecutive loads of a savegame, but when I went back to it an hour or so later, the troop mod graphic was back. I kept playing until I found another missing graphic that crashed the game, though. Very annoying indeed!
I'm seeing the same crashing behavior, unfortunately. I just the troop module, and its box is blank. If I click the "modules" tab in the ship builder, the game crashes. It's entirely repeatable. In my case, it sounds like the bug is more serious - you can't use your old custom designs, but I can't add modules to ANY design. That's going to make continuing this game a bit difficult. Hopefully it doesn't happen with weapons, armor, or engines! I've been noticing other graphics not ap
I don't see this as a "new feature" issue - I see this as completing a feature that was half-implemented (okay, more than half). Unique tech trees with unique building types pretty much requires that some way be offered to manage the glut of near-duplicate building types that can result. I think DivineWrath's suggestion may be going further than necessary, but a simple command to manually make a building obsolete would constitute a very minor change, and would help make the new feature complet
I think something needs to be done to better manage multiple similar buildings. I haven't played the latest beta yet, but in the last game I played, I traded with all sorts of races for technologies that I couldn't research for. The result was that my building list on each planet was ridiculously long, making it hard to find any particular building, or notice when a new one was available as a result of a new acquired technology. On my list of "current best" buildings, I'd have three or four d
