I am also a fan of anime. My favorite of all times since I was a little child is Getter Robo G. I like most of Go Nagai's other super robot series, such as Mazinger. I also like the works of Hayao Miyasaki. I like most of the series you listed also. The ones I don't like is because I haven't seen them. I will usually watch a program in English and then in Japanese with the subtitles. The stories become more vibrant in the original language. Another thing that I like about Japanese cartoo

Is there some kind of subliminal IQ test in the words or something? It may be hard reading because it was originally written as a script for a radio show and is not a true literary work. Try getting it on CD or tape. I borrowed them from the local library and listen to them on my commute to work and home. That's how I "read" them. The story made more sense and was more humorous with actors. Welcome to the newest Hitchikers.
Leaving my spies hanging around doing nothing doesn't seem to help. Nope. But they don't cost anything to maintain. Do I actually have to place spies (over, and over, and over ......., and over again - in a long, expensive battle of attrition) to gain intelligence? Yep.
I posted a 20,000 point win. Horray! We moved up to 6th on the ALT META but are back to 7th. I am already in a winning position on my next game!
This is the only game I have ever bought on my new computer that not only didnt work to begin with, but still refuses to work after handfuls of patches and changed settings. I've read some of the posts here, and all I see is a bunch of finger-pointing, blaming things on this that, everything but GalCivII: DA. The problem needs to be fixed on install, not after 12 patches. After you've settled down you will see that the Stardock staff is dedicated to its
Now you sound like a preacher. Just repeating what your religion has implanted in your mind. I don't recall dystopic recruiting for a particular religion, but I see from two recent posts you like to acusse people of doing so. I read other peoples posts carefully and avoid making inferences on their intent. It was discovered by an apple, and Mr Newton, it requires no trust. That cute little Newton story
It's working! It's working!
Animals sacrifice all the time and the reason is (almost) always the same: conservation of their genetic material, be it manifest in a child, uncle, or third cousin thrice removed. Humans do this, too, and also (almost) always for the same reason as animals. Even if you throw yourself in front of a bus to save someone you don't know you are still saving your distant genetic cousin. From a genetic survival point of view this makes perfect sense - sacrifice will allow th

A god created this planet and universe only to allow child molestation, rape, murder, torture, starvation, and homosexuality ... Did you really just put homosexuality on the same level as child molestation, rape and torture?!? Tsk. Tsk. Good catch! How did I miss that? HUMOR ONLY : Oh! Wait!
I hope we find some aliens soon (though I doubt it), as that might finally put the nail in this decrpid coffin. I respect and appreciate your opinion. However I did have this comic thought (fade out to a change of scene): 2359 Mankind is finally liberated from religion. 2360 The Drengin attacks humanity. Human leader: "Why are you attacking us on our first contact?" Drengin leader: "That's what we do! Conquer all known s
You guys do know that this isn't the place to be discussing religious topics? Sure it is! It does say “Off topic”! written by Marianne Williamson and first recited by Nelson Mandela in his inagural speech. That's very nice, and inspiring. Ahh the problem of evil is an intere
I think you need to learn to use punctuation correctly. Easy on the new guy. But you are right, it would be easier to understand the message on the post if there were punctuation marks. However UP peacekeepers is a cool idea.
Here's a 'knock knock' joke my brother taught me recently: Knock, knock! Who's there? Interrupting cow Interrupting cow who? * Moo! * *However in order for this to be even the least bit funny, you must have proper timing. It's an iterrupting cow, right? So as the 'victim' starts to ask "Interruting cow who?", interrupt them by shouting MOOO as loud as you can. It should go like this: Knock, knock! Who's there? Interru
the Star Fleet Battles I loved that game. I still have all the bits and pieces hidden in a closet. No one would ever want to play with me unfortunately . I like the way Asimov writes. I enjoyed the Robot series. With the Foundation series I just didn't get where he was going. Maybe I read them too young. I guess some of Dr. Seuss work cou
OREO: Welcome Merle. Welcome Mondo. Our quartermaster has sent all your supplies and sundries (You know, towels, official neck ties, life time supply of pan galactic gargle blaster mix, uniforms, soap, and all that) to your post office box on Alfa Centaury. I checked and they are currently there. Feel free to pick those things up at your leisure. Hmm, I wonder why no one else has gotten their things, not even jangerel?
Logically it all falls back to Gödel's incompleteness theorems Conclusion: Higher beings either do not exist. The universe just is, it did not get created This is interesting. In my opinion, it is sophistry and lacking in argument. This makes some assertions that cannot be proven. It's not like you're proving that one equals one. Belief is not like Euclidian geometry. I could continue to add plausible possibilit
Save you custom race. You don't have to actually start the game. Go back and pick any other race. Start a game where your custom race is available to be an opponent. Pick them to be an opponent. On the last tab on the right (I think it says personality) you will be able to change the aligment. There are other threads with this same question. Check those also.
Well I hadn't been this interested in an off topic post in a while. I read every post carefully with consideration. I have faith and I practice in the way that makes me happy. I think that is it. I'd rather be happy than be right. I've read some of the Bible, and translations of the Torah, and all of the Quran. Did anyone see a film called ‘Enemy Mine’? I always liked the part where the human i
Two leprechauns walk into a convent to visit the Mother Superior. The first leprechaun asks, “Mother Superior, are there any leprechaun nuns in this convent?” Mother Superior answers, “No, there are none.” The first leprechaun then asks, “Are there any leprechaun nuns in this county?” Mother Superior answers, “No, there are none.” The first leprechaun then asks, “Are there any leprechaun nuns in the whole of Ireland?” Mother Superior answers, “No, there are none.”<br/
Yes, I winessed the birth of the Gerontocracy in the calling all geezer gamers thread. But they are old and will soon tire, needing naps and taking breaks for tea and their favorite television shows. They will forget where they put their towels. However we know where our towels are. We will hitch hike our way to the top, while they stop to complain about their lumbagos, arthritic pain, and kids on their nebulas.
Yes we are definetly talking about the same film. Compared to a pornographic film, or comparing it to what is proper beach attire in some countries, then there is cursory sexual content. Compared to the book which has very little sexual content, it has high sexual content. I do not think that there is an uncensored version. And there had to have been at least seven naked breasts.
I really like Frank Herbert's work in Dune. Many of the themes match the world political situation at the time of their writting. He makes comparisons between spice and petroleum, and the Fremen and modern middle eastern cultures. I also like Robert Heinlein's Starship Troopers. A lot of people have a misconception about what the theme of the book is, which is civic responsibility and sacrifice, due to the film of the same title. The theme of the film is more of what 16 year olds would d
I was watching a program on the science channel about galactic core detonations that are thought to be linked to mass extinctions on earth and the research on the matter. So how about a galactic core detonation that destroys/damages a random number of vessels in space, randomly destroys a percentage of planetary improvements on worlds, and randomly reduces populations. A contagious organism that impacts populations through trade and tourism. Planet invading space monst
A Doom Ray does 22 damage, has Size 10 and SizeMod 4. A Blackhole Gun does 16 damage, has Size 6 and SizeMod 4. A Blackhole Eruptor does 25 damage, has Size 11 and SizeMod 2. SizeMod is a value added to the Size, and is a percentage of the hull starting size. Components with large Size and small SizeMod are more effective on hulls with larger Sizes. Hey Regicide, I understand the damage and the size, I don't get the size mods you listed. How does t
