I beat him first go (keep in mind, I used to play pol machine 2004, so don't feel bad). The strategy I used was to start the early game building campaign headquarters and fundraising in california. Don't stop until you're earning at least 300,000 a turn, preferably at 400,000-500,000. While doing this, also establish two facilities that will give you 7 political capital and 7 PR clout. With all of this done, you should be institutionally established. Aim to get as many endorsements as
+1 for primaries + debates expansion pack.
Cheers mormegil, very helpful!
Could someone from stardock or in the know please give me a very brief rundown for what these three lines mean in the Interview questions files? E.g: 5 0 0 Most appreciated!

But instead of thanking the man for making sure, he gets the countrys lowest approval rating because all the liberals want ALL PEACE ALL THE TIME. You shouldnt diss the man for trying to do the right thing, especially when the last Democrat president spent most of his time in office doin the wrong thing(You all know what im talking about).
Shorty if the costs
Thanks Mittens.
While it is more Political Machine 1.5 than Political Machine 2.0 (if you get what I mean), I love this game very much. And with a price of $20, I think it's great value.
I understand Boogie, there's only so much you can do on a europe map with a two-party system. To anyone interested, i've started work on the first mod. It'll be a "run for mayor" type of thing done in a fictional setting. I'm borrowing the drengi map, but every kind of stat is being overhauled to work in this more local setting.
Just thought i'd report a minor bug that is annoying me at the moment. Whenever I turn on the hardware mouse cursor in the options menu (I play windowed so it's important), it resets to off when I restart the game. Weirdly, all my other settings are sticking fine.
I don't think the game is bias. MAYBE the withdrawal numbers could use a bit of tweaking for independents, but when you consider that it's the only thing able to complain about I think stardock did a great job keeping any ideological inclination away from the game. For example, if you look at Barack Obama's stats they are quite high. If a programmer was right-wing and had no misgivings putting that into the game, Barack Obama's credibility and other stats would be lower I think.
Playing as a politician must be beginning to rub off on me :P
In my opinion, people who live on reasonable salaries have zero choice. It isn't choice when you have 1000 options on paper, but can't afford any of them as they are all well beyond your means. Why is it impossible for alternative treatments to be available in an environment of state-run healthcare?
I've also noticed a clear bias towards players who play the game well. Appalling elitism!
Hi all, This game is so moddable! I've been fiddling around with all the folders, and most of the text/image files, and I think it'd be quite possible to make your own custom scenarios. However, I tried to do a test scenario, got all the text right, but whenever I load the game it still comes up as the nation of europa. I copied the europa text files, but I made my own state images, my own trace map, as far as I know all the necessary references to the europa map images were taken away,
Not sure mate, no crashes for me. It sounds like to be just your pc, or a bug affecting only some people.
If the game is anything near as moddable as 2004, it should be quite easy to make the independents think whatever you want them to think ;)
Hopefully it's a mistake, and not an attempt to cover up poor AI. I haven't bought 2008 yet, but one of the major selling points for me was better AI from the 2004 version.
I must say this is an extremely quiet release. No advertising anywhere, no mention on the front page about what is going on, and the only information about what/when is in a forum thread.

I'm a Christian, and I never bought into the islamic stereotype. Personally think that the Old Testament is way more violent than any passages in the koran that I have read. The ideals of the religion have been corrupted by some that claim to belong to the faith, but you could say the sam
Now for whomever said I was lying when I said he didn't salute the flag and had his hands down to his side. Here's the video you might want to check out. It's disturbing to see how excited he is for African causes but can't lift his hand to his heart to show his love for THIS country.
As I said in my last post, i'm not American, and i'm not trying to criticise anybody in particular here. However, from an outsiders perspective this obsession with the flag and the pledge
Gene I may come across as a starry-eyed Obama supporter, but i'm not really, i'm not even American. I do like him quite a bit, and would much prefer him over Mccain, but the reason I sound so worked up is the stupid thing he's being attacked for. I don't mind someone saying "I don't like his policy on bla bla bla", but all of this discussion about him being a secret muslim is just inane. And yes, my last statement was designed to be self-contradicting and pompous. So try not to call me
Again, I'll ask you. What is the outright lie?
To complement what smoothseas did, i'll give it a shot. Keep in mind 90% of hate-filled literature is the WAY they say things, not what they say. Poor Obama. Not only does he have the anti-black people annoying him, he has to deal with all of this anti-muslim racism being paraded around as "news" and "facts", even though he isn't a muslim. Also, what's wrong with the state legislature? To me that seems like the ideal experience a candidate needs for a launch into federal politics and eventually a presidential run. A guy who has run a hot dog stand, hunts foxes, and follows football is the last guy who i'd want as a president. I
