If you lost your copy of Dynamic Earth, due to this update or otherwise, you can always re-download it by going into your account and finding the list of all your purchased dreams. Once there you will get links to re-download any dreams you have purchased in the past in case you need them again.

Completely agree with the posts above. The windows ultimate web page hasn't seen any updates for months - at the very least the staff there could use the blog on the site to let us know things are still going (that is, if the staff is even still there... which I am beginning to believe is a real possibility)

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here, but technically Blissful Dream isn't "dynamic" in the way that some people may be thinking. Blissful dream is only a regular old dream with time triggers built into it. Sure, this may be called dynamic (and indeed it is), but there is a big difference from this and dreams such as Desktop Earth and Desktop Collage. Desktop Earth, for example, is completely rendered from your video card on the fly when you select it. All it is is a 3D rendered

meh, Dreams are awesome but Vista is crap, without a port of this for XP I just can't see it going anywhere soon. Unless the only thing you do on your PC is customize your desktop, then going Vista just doesn't make sense. I have used it in the office and the performance is terrible, and with Window Blinds on XP my PC looks just as good if not better and runs alot smoother on a similarly specced machine. I have to agree with vStyler. How many times have we all eaten out at a restaurant and not liked the food you ordered? Tripdog - I understand where you're coming from, and you make a very, very valid point. I guess the only thing I can suggest is to follow Stardock's advice and compare their premium dreams with their free dreams, since the quality and general performance are always quite similar. As for the dynamic dreams, I don't think I've heard of one NOT working for someone (or at least not to the point that Stardock's tech team cant fix it once the person goes through the proper channels) Please correct me

I don't see how a missing feature such as folder scanning "defeats the whole purpose" Sure I agree that having the .dream scan folders for new images would be nice, but saying or implying that excluding this feature kills the entire point or worth of the .dream is where I would have to disagree.

FYI I'm using a 7800GTX... maybe it's a problem with the 7000 series then? I honestly have not tried to downgrade my drivers ever since I encountered the problem (which was right after my upgrade from 100.65 to 158.18) but I know that all the dreams were working just fine then. Perhaps I'll try that and report what happens when I get home later tonight (I'm at my college library atm)

Thats just the problem RottGutt, there are no newer video drivers. You can relax now, though. There is absolutely nothing wrong with your machine or the .dreams that are giving you problems. IF you absolutely want to use these .dreams in question then I suggest simply downgrading your drivers and I can almost guarantee it will work properly. The drivers before the most current Nvidia drivers (Forceware 158.18) worked perfectly for me. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think they were forcewa

How long has this been going on? It might just be your video driver (especially if you're using Nvidia) I don't know about anyone else, but with Nvidia's newest masterpiece of a driver many dreams are just unusable. I get this green garbage on my screen that has countless artifacts everywhere. Maybe this is what you mean by "4-color" mode? or maybe I'm completely wrong...

As far as I know the dream maker does not include the ability to make dynamic content yet. Stardock is currently working on an API to correct that. And incase you're wondering (as many of us have at one point or another) Niel Banfield is an artist working for Stardock, meaning he has free access to any currently unreleased software and thus we see a lot of dynamic content from him.
