Anything remotely like Master of Magic has me intrigued. That has to be my favorite game of all-time. Go Stardock!
Nonexistant
You can use the archive feature within SDC to make a archive file to transfer to your other PC. Just select GC2 and then from the File menu, select Archive.
I haven't had time to play the game, let alone work on the map editor. It shouldn't be too hard for anyone to do. Just editing some XML files. I still plan on working on it as soon as work slows down.
I have the same problem. Hopefully something they'll add down the road.
If the other races were smart they would create an alliance and wipe the space Nazi's out of the universe as quick as possible.
Seriously ?
Just because no one's mentioned it, I'll give my top 1: System Shock 2 Looking forward to Bioshock, but I don't expect I'll have the system to run it for many a moon! Wow, no one mentioned that, great, great, great game.
Master of Magic was hands down the greatest game I have ever played... Runners up - MOO2 Imperium Galactica 2 XCOM UFO Defense Civ Series Elder Scrolls Series Worst - MOO3 And many many more...
You could probably achieve something similiar with one of the Lighting filters in Photoshop. I don't have it installed on this PC, or I'd give specifics.
SDC should list Dark Avatar under the GC2 heading, if you click on the + sign. Assuming you already expanded the selection something may be wrong. Here is a screenshot from my SDC. edit - oops, little late, hehe
I liked the combat from Imperium Galactica II myself. In MOO2 I usually had the PC autoplay the battles anyway. I haven't really been dissapointed yet, but then again I try to avoid battles with Influence & Diplomacy. I haven't had the time to invest in a strictly military campaign yet. Might be worth a look.
I think they are making them stand alone as well from what I gather. There is just a lengthy delay between the SDC version and the stand alone version. At least i hope they are, I would like to be able to have a stand alone patch as well. It kinda makes having the original CD's pointless, if I need an archived version of them on a DVD...
Will the MV games I started in the last patch work if I post them now with this patch, or do I have to start new MV games all together?
I'm using Linux until I can afford a Mac. Shame on M$ ...
Am I missing anything? Just the story and a few fancy movies ...
I started a game in 1.5 and updated to 1.5x midway through. After I post the game, it didn't have the cheat flag. Same here. It is my only game I'm sure you guys will sort it out. I can't wait to post more games
Any update on this? I have a few games I want to post, but I'm worried... Thanks
Your leader didn't happen start a war over "Spore Ships" another Civ supposedly had because your "spies" told you they did?
\My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar\ships \My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar\shiptemplates \My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar\ShipStyles Should have everything you need
Planet List. An icon indicating if it's colonizable or not would be nice. Easier to pick through to find ones you should send ships to. Just pick the unowned tab on the planet list to see only planets that are available. I wish the unowned tab would tell you the planet type (radioactive, barren, aquatic, etc.) instead of having to click through them and look...
Browsing the forums it seems most "hardcore" players disable tech trading. It can be an exploit. It can also be downright difficult to get them to part with certain techs, any of the extreme colonization techs especially. Every tech has a value to the AI. I think your diplomacy can lower/increase the value that the AI puts on tech during trades with you. Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge will post after me <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.
You can remove the ships from the My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar\ships folder. You may also need to delete the files from My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar\shiptemplates also. I like to do the same, it works quite well. EDIT: you may need to change that directory to \My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\ships if you aren't playing DA. <img src="http://altmeta2.thegalacticcore.com/ranksig.php?id=12432&style=1&b
I haven't read it myself. The early sci-fi style would make a fanstastic mod, at least the ship designs would be very cool. I would be interested in assisting.
Ah, even better. Thanks kryo!
That's what I was afraid of. Oh well DVD's aren't too pricey anymore. Thanks
