Ok. It's just that years back the way civ3 patches were localized left me traumatized forever. Not that I can blame Stardock for that one :)

So if I went and bought the "endless universe" could I upgrade it with the forthcoming 2.0 patch ? I mean the ver 2.0 is a patch to the game engine, and enless universe is a standalone release but uses that engine, right ?
I saw a local gaming seller advertise Galactic Civilizations II: Endless Universe PC Is this the same you are talking about here.
This is a copy of advice that's both in CWM forum and EG forum >>If you get this mission run a search for "oveon" (I think it means transport in gaalian). You'll get a list of the 30 nearest Gaalian transports. Your target will be in the designated system when the mission begins. ...usually only one ship fitting the description. Run that search before you leave the planet you got the mission from, then you'll know his name. Usually when you get there the ship has "jumpe
... As for the Pirates stuff, that has always bugged me too, you go out of your way to stop those Pirates, killing any ships they see fit, and by doing so, you lose faction with that Pirates race, and that has always bugged me, cause their pirates i thought!
This has always annoyed me too, and even more so because the programmers haven't even bothered to add a couple of lines to the stroryline which would have explained it somehow. Like "the pirates are providing goverment
... I can run Space Rangers 2 Complete, but can't even install Reboot.
Now you got me confused. One minute you're talking about SR2 (the original ?) which you uninstalled. And now you say you can run "Complete" but can't install "Reboot" (you mean the expansion only version ?) . But doesn't "Complete" include the expansion ?? So there shouldn't be any need to install the expansion separately ?
If you've only played ver 1.3 before, then there's a long changelist here: http://elementalgames.com/forum/msg.php?lang=eng&forum=rangers&theme=484&&page=2 page 2 - changelist from ver 1.4 to 1.7. Ver 1.8 didn't introduce changes. It's a long and wandering thread and a quick look didn't reveal a detailed changelist for ver 2 except some introductory notes. At the last page someone told that he had translated a changelist with Babelfish :) and I understood that he
Uh-huh! Sounds like someone at the programmer/distributor end failed spectaculary in checking how the d*mn thing works and publishing the instructions. Somehow not being able to download doesn't sound that bad right now ;)
Yo! keithLamothe !!! Is that the size of the expansion or complete ?
McGlu
...Can you tell us if the TG.Net version of the expansion works with the boxed version of the game?
This is what Yarlen told us in March: "We will be selling the expansion by itself (if you already own the original game) - it's not standalone - and as part of a bundle." McGlu
...if it removes the StarForce requirement.(Fingers crossed)
When I first heard about the expansion in EG forums the russian version was already out and it
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!! 1C download section - I'm pretty sure there was a link to SR2 (ver 1.3) just a couple of days ago, now that link has disappeared. Getting ready for a new link ??? (maybe, perhaps - hopefully).
Cinemaware Marquee forum is one: http://www.cinemawaremarquee.com/forum2/index.php ...but you have to log in before you can browse the threads - this is supposedly because there was a huge spammer crisis over a year ago. There's parctically no-one there anymore. Then there's the EG forum: http://elementalgames.com/forum ...that too has become very quiet lately, mostly because everyone is waiting for the new release (but you can read about that from another thread here).
This feels like the game that never is.
And for a while I was very hopeful because this release would bring the english version to the same level as the russian version. The russian ranger community is very lively, actually ver 2.0 includes a bunch of new missions and rts-maps they've made, so I thought that in the future it would be relatively easy to get new missions etc to the game. But now it seems that's not gonna happen - if I've understood correc
...So I ask again:The main game costs 2 token(or $19.99). How can an add-on pack(Which isn't a standalone) be the same price?
I can't speak for Stardock, but I think there's a slight misunderstanding here. I've been following the discussion on EG forum (original developers) and 1C forum (European publisher) and as I understand it the game that's being released ("Gold" or "Reloaded") isn't really a add-on but a new release of the entire game with new missions, equipmen

You say your game came with SR1, so I assume it's the boxed version (dvd). There should be a serial no. on the cover of the manual "leaflet".
Fly to any Ranger station, on the menu screen there's an option to add the nodes to your node account.
That could be useful to get the correct formula between research efficiency, available material for research and time consumption >task: make formula >enter variables >enter data >calculate !!!!Beeb Beeb Beeb!!! Alarm!! Danger!! System overload!! Abandon ship! Abandon ship! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/tgNET/smiles/Wink.gi
This has puzzled many (myself included) and I don't have a definitive "scientific" answer to that, and can't remember seeing any watertight explanation. However I do have a "homemade theory": The research is a journey to a destination that is (in a way) known, you want to find a way to stop Doms. The rangers provide the fuel (Dom parts) to keep the research moving and it does move, in stages. When one stage is researched the fuel is spent and the science guys need more. But just as
Stardock won't let me install it because it says you need win 2000 or higher to install Don't know about Stardock, but the retail box says it should work with Win98. It's not recommended though The retail version is a dvd, so it doesn't suit you. <img s
As far as I've understood the discussions in Elementalgames (english) forum the russian patches are mostly gameplay tweaks, making the game more difficult and added quests etc. For example one thread described a tweak to the "bounty escaping to a planet and getting arrested" problem: you can bribe the government of the planet to let your target out of jail. The only problems that I've had are connected to displaying the intro and other video clips, but even those are occasional
My first and immediate impulse was to say NO!! Then I loaded a saved game and tried...aaand the answer is still NO!! Finally the last resort, the manual ,well if there is a way it escapes me (and always has). The only explanation I can offer is that in some pictures in the manual the radar circle is bigger. And this happens when you get a better radar (or improve your existing one either at the science station or
Any chance I can use my usb controller with the game, for the space battles at least? I suppose you mean a joystick or a gamepad. There are basically two modes of battle: One is to use the automatic battle options offered by the game. In other words the game takes the lead and you don't have any control except c
Do you have the intro disabled or enabled ? I'm not 100% sure but this type of missions might have a videoclip attached to them and they can crash the game. Don't ask me why. A couple of first times I played, the intro etc. played just fine but then they started crashing the game. I disabled the intro from game menu and no more crashes. As for these missions in general I stopped taking part of them because it seems that the military ships (and the base) always got blown away an
