Quoting CobraA1, reply 13 I don't like mines. They just bog the game down. The computer goes crazy with them makes 1/2 a planet system filled up with them. If you do include mines in the final version I suggest you add an option to disable/remove them from the game.
Fine limit mines, but what abount mining neutral areas. you should be able to have a certain number of tactical s

ADVENT mines are th EASIEST to clear. The vasari mines and tec mines are hte more difficult ones. To clear avemnt mines just send a single scout ship inot the sector, and micro it NEAR amine field, assuming the user hasn't turned the mines off of AUTO AQUIRE every mine in the system will chase after you, just drage them to the other side of the system, and let the scout die....all the mines will stack in a neat little pike, and your entried fleet is free to come in and ravash the system
tell whomever is hosting to turn ALLOY off. thsi is a know bug preventing starbases from upgrade.
I totally agree with dark cloud. IT makes it more difficult, but not imposible, and when you do finally find a way through it THAT will be the new status quo for assaulting a heavily mines planetary system.
SNOWBALLING? no I dont think this would be possible becuase ALL mines are Phased out. they must be in range of something to detect and must bet set to AUTO if you dfetect it, or can be manually detonated assuming a shiop is nearby. It doesn't even make sense that they would snowball if you think about it. Cost per mine layed? well TEC has to pay per field already, and I really think that it is FAR too expensive, but I dont understand how you would quantify a cost for mines from a mine
advent can effectively and quickly clear a mine field with ILLUMINATORS ability to clone themselves...simply get 10-20 illuminators offworld, clone them on the world before the mined world, and run the clones in and suicide them into the mines. clears a nice path to the planet for your cap ship to go thru, as for the ruiners that are there that is a diffrernt issue. the miner should probably be made of paper, but until it is I recommend bombers.
Ive seen up to 60 specifically done by phantom1, he runs the gambit on all you planets killing your constructor vesssels, and then moves on...if you are unlucky enough to be using a single campital ship to colonize a heavily guarded planet and he catches you , you can kiss that cap ship goodbye. the initial moeny you are given is enough to build an extra frgate fact, and about 33 scouts...it works, but is lame, and will be an isor with Entrenchment. in fact ALL spam rushing will hopefull
ALLOY is the problem man.....if you are using alloy starbases CANNOT be upgraded.
WELL!!!! ADVENT Perhaps the most screwed up race so far is the advent. They have the most bugs of all the races where do i start. 1. The bug with the mixed fleet mines and fighters for both the Hangars and the Drone hosts is NOT fixed. I know the 1.1 patch was supposed to fix it, but now it does something comepletly different. Instead of getting a mini dump the planet, asteroid or neutral territory simply dissapears!!! yes the magical CLOAKED territory!! this happens w
Won't bother to read that until you get that all into normal font/colors...please
wow thanks phalanx, The problem with this post is that it is done in IMPULSE instead of done from the website. I have reposted in the beta and attempted to fix it for the website.
So I have been playing entrenchment and I have to say great job! the update is fantastic, and adds a lot of options that I really REALLY like. there are of course issues with it that i have, and I will list them here, anyone else who has thoughts or suggestions or just thinks I'm completely wrong just list it here. i have highlited the bullets incase your lazy ass doesn' want to read all of my rhetoric.
im talking here against adept human players. I will never ever fight something that hold no economical walue to enemy if i can avoid it. You can make this thing useful against AI, yes. Im talking abaut making it useful against player that know how to ruin your day. Ever seen 20 carriers run pass your defenses and Bomb rushing your tradeports?
Actually the starbase
wait longer or get more RAM with VIST I HAVE to be using a thumb drive with 4 gigs and READYBOOST to extend my ram and even THEN It will say not responding for up to 45 seconds.
I made this post from STARDOCK sorry about the white on yellow...
you are joining the community at a good time. There are not only 2 MAJOR patches that fix, and change a lot of important thing, but ALSO an expansion for 10 bux that Is VERY cool and is downloadable now. As far as strategies I'm sure if you have played online at all you realize that playing against the AI is a totally different animal. This is tru of most games that have an online vs AI option ANYWAY so I dont see why you are suprized by it. Tutorial wise just look at the achi
you're right about the mines, I have made a post about this in the ENTRENCHMENT BETA 1.1 (thoughts and balance by KRUNK) and it includes some current, and hopefully future ways to use mines that should make them more fun
yeah honestly an exploit in a new patch is less an exploit, and more a strategy for winning. would you consider it an exploit that you can spam carriers and pretty much wipe out ANY fleet. Do what it takes to win, and if you think it is particularly unfair then let an admin know.... scuttle-bugs from 1.1 for example...
no, you must reinstall SINS if you want to play 1.12

honestly I wouldn't have a problme with it if it didnt INTERRUPT the game going on at that moment. I ahve been told by several people that SINS is NOT dependant on ICO being up if you are already playing a game because it is a client-side-host, but appearantly this is not the case, and it is a particularly annoying thing. This is the same thing that killed tiberium wars.
server went down again in the middle of an epic FFA. Too bad too I was having a blast. looked like everyone lagged out, but when i quit 1 hour later I couldn't get back into ICO...blah blah blah more of the same I hope this isn't what we have to look forward to with entrapment
I was just commenting about that in the chat server. I think ICO is run by a guy on the bicycle. He takes sunday off, and there's nobody at the helm. You'd think stardock could at least pay somenoe time+1/2 to peddle the ICO server bike so we can play.
ok so, so far I have seen about 4 new bugs that are not something that was happening in the previous versions, haven't found any exploits yet though :) Bug #1: The Lobby Games can no longer be seen in the game list. Tar in the lobby was saying that this problem had been fixed, and that all we had to do was to join his game and it would fix it, but I dont believe him. You have to know the name of the game you want to join, type it in the search, and then it s
uhm wasnt it going to fix the buff stacking from AOE abilities too?
i am having the same problem however I was able to get on this morning, and now I can't...What gives?
