We made the decision that the 95% of users shouldn't have to subsidize the 5% of players who want multiplayer. I'd really like to know where you're getting this 95-5 ratio. That seems unbelievable to me. I play a lot more single player CivIV than I play multiplayer, but I DO play multiplayer on a fairly regular basis (LAN, Pitboss, and Play By

No, it really isn't that simple. People that don't want multiplayer are considerably less likely to pay the extra premium that adding multiplayer would bring to the price--especially in a theoretical expansion pack that adds just multiplayer and associated features, where noone at all would buy it who didn't want multiplayer. The descision to leave multiplayer out (an
Ok... I've removed the GalCiv2 themed desktop, but I still get the distorted (and quite unuseable) main menu when I try to run in windowed mode. Also, despite my attempts to simply edit the .ini file to restore the full-screen mode, it doesn't work. I have to delete the .ini file to return to normal. I'm sure someone at Stardock must have a way to reproduce this error...
OK... I don't seem to have that icon. I wasn't sure I had the app running... is it part of the galciv2 desktop environment that comes with the collector's edition?
If you exclude GC2 from WindowBlinds, that should fix the problem with windowed mode. How do you do this?
Delete the prefs.ini to restore the default settings. Make sure that your desktop resolution is set to at least 1024x768 and 32 bit color, otherwise you might have problems with windowed mode. Thanks... I figured that out. Dunno why you have to delete the .ini file, instead of just editing it... but it's back to normal. I think
Windowed mode does work at 1024x768. The titlebar of the window is just moved off screen so that you can't see it. If you have WindowBlinds running, though, you will need to exclude GC2 from WindowBlinds. How do you exclude GC2 from WindowBlinds? I downloaded the GC2 desktop theme thingy that comes with the collector's edition - should I just r
I dunno, dude... the game seems to be selling pretty well as it is. Civilization III didn't ship with multiplayer. That was saved for a later expansion pack. And that franchise did OK, last I checked. I don't think slapping a hotseat feature in is as easy as you think.
So, I've read elsewhere that windowed mode doesn't work at 1024x768. Is there any plan to fix this in a future patch? This is exceptionally inconvenient for those of us with laptop PC's with limited resolution.
I tried that... I'm stuck in the same sort of problem... screen is outta whack now. I switched to windowed mode, then switched back, but it appears to be stuck. Help!!
