I have also been having this problem since day one. I have gone through all the fixes recommened by CariElf in this forum message https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=274&AID=112709#922531. I have continued to upgrade to the newest version of GalCiv2. I have the newest video and sound drivers. Yet I am still plagued by a hard system freeze every time I try to play the game. Smart Exception doesn't capture any information, since the system completely locks up. I have been

Moosetek, thanks for the suggestion. However, I find it hard to believe I have a memory stick problem when GalCiv2 is the ONLY program that I have any problems with. Yes, it is very difficult to track down. I was hoping for some help from the people that make the game. Is this the right place? I haven't heard anything at all from them. Thanks Mike

Interesting. Has it frozen snce then? I've been having similar probelms with the game also. However, I didn't have the media player going at the same time so I'm curious if you have had any problems without the media player running. Here is what I have tried so far. I have updated my sound drivers, disabled the anti virus program, checked to make sure I have the latest video drivers for Nvidia, turned off all the extra blings stuff, tried the hardware cursor on and off, and turned

Thank you for the suggestions. So far I have updated my sound drivers, disabled the anti virus program, checked to make sure I have the latest video drivers for Nvidia, turned off all the extra blings stuff, tried the hardware cursor on and off, and turned off antialiasing. The game still freezes. There doesn't seem to be any event associated with the freeze. Nor is there a specific amount of time. Obviously there must be something, I just don't see anything to indicate what it is.<b

Thanks both for the advice. I tried turning off the antialiasing as you suggested, WarEagle. But that didn't help. Moosetek13, I already thaught of the AV program, so I disabbled it to see what would happen. The game still froze-up. I hadn't thought about the sound dirvers. If I turn off the sound in the game options, would that be a good way to test that theory? I'll give it a try. Thanks Mike

The game locks-up the whole computer. I have the most recent driver from Nvidia 84.21. Any ideas on what I need to do to get the game working?
