I play on painful(i think) usually. In my past 40wk game, coming close to adding another in the sparse win column, I lost by four electoral votes, adding yet another loss(along with many others) at that difficulty. The others difficulties I can usually pull out a more than decent win at 40 wk's. To the point where I would try challenge my self but going for Florida or certain other high electoral vote states. I still more than a few levels to climb though. I believe I am on the hardest o

thanks man. appreciated. It is not perfect, but I gave it a try.
Though I know it is hard wired more endorsements would be nice. A map editor would be cool, and has been much asked for. I would like to see an editor, doesn't matter if its in game or not. the purpose being editing issue, partys, and endorsments etc. Maybe some random events(campaign manager gaffe)? I think the game could use more variety during play, but being a game of statistics and not computer savvy beyond xml, I am not sure what can added with out sacrificing the base play. Maybe
I believe they are looking into this issue. I know at first they focused most of their efforts on making sure the game simply worked on everyones pc.
What difficulty are you playing on? I play 40 weeks, due to(what I believe) is fan/cooling probelms with my laptop. Still on harder difficulties I find my self begging for a few extra weeks to edge out my opponent and take the lead. Maybe your better than me, and are playing on the hardest diffuclty levels, but I struggle alot with 40 weeks. It's nice and challenging.
I would hope that regardless of how big or small their market is for the game (after all it was their decission to do this game to begin with) I will still hope that they will fix issues with the game as they appear.
alls I meant is the less income the game is projected to recieve the less time they will be allowed to spend on it. Gal Civ 2 was major project game and received tremendous attention. They have other new major titles
I've had similar probelms at times. Usually when a swing state, mainly Ohio, gets chaulk full towards the end of the game. I will say I bought this game due to what at least felt like unprecedented custormer care with the Galactic Civilization 2 game. This game having a smaller market, it's understandably recieves less attention. Customer Service with Stardock is second to none though.
My attempt at a Joe Biden character. Could use some help on platforms and traits. Okay maybe not. I can't figure out to upload the pictures. Maybe any help with that?
The only one off guys are the fixers. The reason why the movie director was hidden is becuase when you got him from the question mark(orignally in Ohio apparently) you never actually placed him. Certain characters, from the question marks, such as Movie Directors, Media Darlings, etc. can only be placed in one state. Their effects last throughout the rest of the game. In the little description box about the certain characters(when you first recieve them and I believe when you click on them.)
Personally, I like to choose three main platforms and allow In game actions like speeches and endorsements to decided the rest of my policies. A good jump ahead in certain areas can be helpful. Such as the Better Economy issue or Outsourcing jobs/more jobs works very well in the michigan to pennslyvania area. Choosing three issues that will do will in swing states are also helpful.
Here ya go buddy. Not sure which one it is exactly though. IRAQWAR Withdrawing from Iraq War gfx\Ad_Images\Ad_War_G.png The war in Iraq has become a controversial issue since the 2003 invasion. Originally the Bush administration made the case for war
I know its early, but I was curious as to around when we could expect the election simulation for this election like from the 04 election. Where Kerry won by Ohio I believe(Ironic huh?). I know you need the VP picks atleast. I also relize that timelines are dangerous in the game industry, I guess you could say i was just curious for a time horizon.
I asked a similar question before. Apparently you just get the awareness bonus. Not positive, but I believe a decent boost in the VP's homestate in awareness aswell. They can work well if you plan things out and drop them in a state or few that you plan on being swing. Leave them alone till towards the end though, so as not to attract your opponents attention. Also good to deal with opponent intimidators.
I know, just adding alittle critique for stardock. I made it half way through making a 1972 campaign scenario when I was on vacation the end of june, but havent had much time to work on it since. though I do have annthoer week off coming up between quiting my job and moving to orlando. Might give it another shot. My comp is messed though, I think there is a probelm with the fan in my laptop, it has a tendency to overheat easily ever since a serious virus attack 8 or months ago. Makes me lathargi
I like Huckabees stats, its like he is a slightly better Bill Richardson for the Repub's. Mike Gravel's stats could use slight tweaking but he's not bad. Kucinich is my probelm, His stats seem backwards. A 10 for media Bias? He was barred from the later televised debates! Maybe a 7 as opposed to 6 with stamina. His intelligence(he was great on the dail show and Colbert report, like ron paul whom i dont even like), comliness(he reminds me of a little leprechaun. you telling you dont like lucky ch
A few more notes as I attempt making a scenario. The Improving the economy issue is not listed with the rest of modern issues, I was looking for the tag for an endorsement. I used a few other economic issues as a subsitute. AI's that start in a swing state(Bill Richardson) had a tendency to fly to another state set up a headquaters only to fly back to the home state to upgrade the starting headquaters, I noticed when loading the game and checking on the endorsemets.

I haven't had any real probelms(aside from expected preformance issues, But nothing to bad. The game remains very playable.) When I
all of this for less than half the price of a full tank of gas.
I think that sums it up well. I have had no probelms on my nearly 4 year old laptop. As I said before previous customer care is the reason I felt confident in buying this game. It's not easy to feel confident on even the highest rated games, like Medieval Total War 2 as a good example. As a fellow Civ4 player, I highly suggest you check out GalCiv 2, if you havent. I havent even bought the amazing Twilight o
How about the Issues? I noticed that they do not have the same break up that endorsements do. In fact I can't even find the issues for the scenarios, such as Drengi(no Korath?) and Europa. How can I edit those for a scenario?
I was screwing around with endorsements xml and had a few questions for the stardocks guys and anyone else that knows about XML. I am not too experienced with XML aside from messing around with Civ4 files. I wasn't able to find a way to to utilize the mods folder in the game files. I saw no loading options in game and clearly no loading options pre-game(ala Europa Unversalis 3). So I went ahead and backed up my endorsements file and added my creations to it. I did not mess around with any
I always wind up with a large stock of clout and nothing to spend it on.You can destroy your "Clout HQ" after you have earned all the clout that you can spend. But yeah, no one really objects to having more of everything (endorsements, interviews, candidates, candidate body parts, etc...).
I've done that a few times but i stratigically place all headquaters for maxium affect, and that just feels like an unnessecary expense(wether that means the adjacent states lost
you would have to go into programs files and find the stardock folder. from there you'll find the political machine folder. Inside the data folder you should see the candidates information in an editable xml document that you can open with regular wordpad. The unlockable candidates are below the the starting sets. I was unable to distinguish the variable for locking/unlocking them becuase I am tired. Sorry. It's a start for ya though.
No hurry needed anyways. A map editor tomarrow is just as good as an editor Nov. 4. Unfortunatly PM doesn't have the base that Galciv2 had upon intial release either. Im guessing this leaves less money, and there by less time. If the PM care is even a 1/16 as good as GalCiv2's, I expect to see a few special updates before election day. The care poured into GalCiv2 is the reason I felt confident in buying PM(even if as much attention cant be focused on PM.)
Thats useful on harder difficultys, but I think expanding the VP's options could help.
I think a map editor would help create a lasting base for the political machine series. The creation abilitys in GalCiv2 and the Civ series(world builder) have helped to ensure longevity(as if GalCiv2 needed anything to give it even more longevity). The major probelms I see are the infusion of issues, endorsments, TV shows, etc. A randomising feature to start it off would help, but it's not hard to see the difficulty in creating an editor. I do believe it could pay off big in the long run though
