Tell me about it.

Steam sales have really been a tipping point. I've got enough of a backlog of good, slightly older, much cheaper, and "complete" games waiting that the urge to buy shiny new ones is more easily resisted. That being said, if I get fantastic fun/value/playtime out of a game, I will sometimes purchase a sequel/expansion at launch as a "reward" to the devs.
My fave horror [slash comedy] is 'The Evil Dead' series with Bruce Davidson... and of those 'The Evil Dead 2' tops the list.
Sorry I have to be "that guy," but my handle demands that I point out that Bruce Campbell was the star of the Evil Dead series.
Going to list some of "my" classic comedies: The Great Race "Push the button Max!" Young Frankenstein/Blazing Saddles (1974, the year of Mel Brooks) "My, what knockers!" Airplane/Naked Gun/Top Secret "Is this some kind of bust? "It's very impressive, yes." Kingpin (Munson: "How's life." Neighbor (smoking with oxygen on): "Takin' forever.")
Ahh, after trying many things, success. By running the Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion Dev Application as admin from the steamapps/common/sins of a solar empire rebellion folder directly, it allowed me to open the registration and have it actually work. The error seemed to imply i should run SDActivate as admin, but that was a red herring. Signing off...hope this helps you future theoretical people.
I am going to record things here for the possible future google searches that may look for help with similar issues. All prior forum/posts with similar issues never posted anything regarding a resolution, so I'm not sure if any of them were ever solved. Hail future people, I shall post for your future reference. Unfortunately, another day of Sins abstinence. Got a prompt morning reply from support, but couldn't try fix till home from work. Provided a ne
Hi all, I've already sent an email to support, but other than the autoreply, haven't heard back. While waiting, I was wondering if anyone else had the Stardock Account Registration verifier hang/do nothing, thus sticking me with some free time to kill? For kicks, I even hit the "Reset password" option, but it just says it could not contact server (at least that option indicated it was trying to do something). Google searching showed a few older posts with t
I got my latest gaming rig through ecollegepc. Good customizability, good prices, great customer service. With no time/interest in putting together the pc myself, this was a very reasonable option. Good hunting. Groovy
You and others might checkout ecollegepc, I just ordered from them and so far prices/email question response has been good.
My pioneer kill netted me just over 1.35 billion gildar...
I too just had this happen...instant billionaire! Not sure how to get a screen capture.
Ugh I hated DOW II Beta, I think they totally ruined it. They changed from 11 races to 4, added GFWL, and lowered the ammount of soldiers. They have a total of 7 maps, not 2v2 maps as well. Graphics are nice, I'll give them that. I'm not getting the game. Starcraft II, Demigod, and Empire: Total War are on my list however. -Phalnax
To be fair, it took the main game plu
With 500k plus units sold, how many online games are going on at one time? I think the dev's have noted that the vast majority of Sins players play solo, so I'm not too worried they'll over cater to multiplayer. The thing I find interesting is that my tastes continue to change as I age. I played Starcraft like a maniac there for a while. Somewhere in the multiple 1000s of games on Bnet, and could hold my own just fine. Now, that competitive itch has been scratc

QFT
This game and some other treasures can be found at Good Old Games website, gog.com. Only $6 I think. My friend, your RTS preferences place you squarely in the Ancient Order of Turtles, welcome. On a side note, you might find Defense Grid, the Awakening enjoyable.&n
Yes, thanks. Switched the version number to 2 using notepad and all is well.
Hmm, that's where I've put them, not appearing with the other maps though.
Noob here, but the search function only pointed me to the galaxy forge beginners guide, which doesn't really answer my question that I can find. I've downloaded a couple of custom galaxy maps, but they do not appear for me to choose when starting a new game. I've tried placing them in programfiles/stardock/totalgaming/sinsofasolarempire/galaxy next to the other maps, but they're a no show after starting up the game. I'm running 1.1 beta. Any clues where I s
This may be a noobish question, but where should one put the file? Running 1.1 beta. The map doesn't appear anywhere (I've tried it in programfiles/stardock/totalgaming/sinsofasolarempire/galaxy, as well as in the application data/mods area without success.)
The root of the issue is that the carrier got another squadron without anything being subtracted to offset this. This results in a loss of gameplay balance.Perhaps if the carrier was slower due to having lost an engine to accomidate another squadron, or something similar it wouldnt be so bad.As for anti-strikecraft, its all but useless unless you build one per squadron. Even then its pointless unless you take out the carrier itself. Maybe if strikecraft were not free.
Cor
The best thing about this on their webpage...... Sacrifice is one of the games displayed. Hey Stardock, how about getting the rights to that gem and giving us a proper sequel?
It amuses me that this thread seems to be more popular than the movie that inspired it.
Ok, maybe this is a slight derail, but I can't resist.
I was taught both evolution and creationsim in public school (Newfoundland, Canada). I think both should be taught as they are the two major theories out there right now to explain the diversity and fossil record.
This type of thinking brings up some questions for reflection. Why do people make the assertion that there are two views, evolution vs their particular belief system, instead of evolution vs
Interesting that I keep seeing these same arguments crop up across multiple websites. On the side of "exposing" Expelled is a decent site[link="http://www.expelledexposed.com/"]WWW Link[/link]. I do have a degree in molecular biology as well an MD, and took courses in evolution, as well as doing years of basic science lab work. Like any other scientific endeavor, "evolution" is a vastly more subspecialized and complex field of study than most people realize. In fact, the more educate
Reading the post title calling us "Sinners" reminded me of one of my favorite games, Sacrifice, and its Saccers. As long as Stardock is going nuts with its teamups and Impulse stuff, maybe I could throw out a suggestion they look at bringing this classic back to the digital distribution era in an updated form. I promise I'll throw in my 300 crystal if that day ever comes. Stay Groovy
