I just reinstalled Elemental to check the new beta patch but neither 1.09 nor the new beta version starts. The launch window opens but after I click "Play Game" I only see a short black flash. Cannot even find a debug-file in the game folder, can't try out settings, because the game does not start at all. System: XP 32 Bit, 4 GB, Intel Quad 2 9600, ATI 5850 with 10.11 drivers, tried two different soundcards and different graphic settings (Vsync, AI etc.) (Sorry

It seems you can't install the 1.1 beta if you don't have the original game installed. Here is a solution I found. 1. Go to the Impulse Settings and disable "show pre-release version". Restart Impulse. 2. Install Elemental (it's the old version). Switch "show pre-realase versions" on again. Restart Impulse. 3. Now you can install the (beta 1.1) patch It seems you can't install the 1.1 beta if you don't have the original game installed. Here is a solution I foun

I never played he campaigns in GC. Elemental however is a fantasy game and Frogboy always said that it should be a platform to tell deep, exciting stories. So my expectations were really high. As it is, I think the short campaign is still unplayable. I tried to play it when the game come out but there were to many bugs to finish it. I started again after the 1.06 patch, but again I ran into so many errors that I had to stop (quests could not be finished, vanishing armies, groups of so

Thanks for the great review. I played Fantasy General a lot (still have the box) and would really like to try King Arthur. The problem is that Ubisoft has the rights for the German market and for that reason Steam blocked it for Austria. Switzerland and Germany. Are there any other distributors that sell King Arthur?

Elven Legacy is a (indeed very hard) sequel to Fantasy Wars. Fantasy Wars itself is a brilliant remake of the classic "Fantasy General" by SSI. It was some kind of fantasy version of their Panzer General series. It has got a lot of tactical depth, like chess. If you like turn based tactical games, this serial is great. I recommend starting with Fantasy Wars though because its much easier. If the game is worth your time depends on what you would spend it otherwise

I bought Demigod when it was released, just because a like the other Stardock games a lot. I read before that the Stardock is investing a lot of resources to create an great single player experience. "Players will be surprised how deep the single player campaign will be. It will be much more than skirmishes", I read in an interview. I bought the game because I trusted this. There was no word of "this is an pure multiplayer game, don't be so silly to expect a decent single player mode"

The asteroid support lines in DA and TA show the direction in which the bonus goes (from an asteroid field to a planet). It seems that this animations are only updated three times a second. The result looks stuttering or stroboscopic, especially when you zoom in. In fact, it makes me dizzy to watch those animations for a longer peroid of time. I found out that ist ist possible to turn off those bonus routes in the display options. Is it possible to keep the lines, but to switch

It is true that the "normal" level seems very hard at the beginning. On the other hand, it can be quite easy, once you start designing your own ships. Here is a strategy I found useful at with small maps at "normal" level: - Specialize your homeworld to trade and built some Trade Centers. This allows to buy a lot of useful things each turn . - Design your own fast explorers and colony ships. Remember that you can build in multiple
