I think the world of Elemental should be a wild one, where civilization is scarce. Currently there are way too many cities in each world. While I don't believe there should only be very limited certain "spots" where you can build a city. I'd say there should be two kind of regions, wild ones and settle able ones. So that some of the very dark and twisted places of the world will always stay wild, and the more fertile areas will carry clusters of cities. You could only build 1 tile o

I'd also like to know this. So I can atleast research said tech :P Haven't encountered it so far. Actually, never gotten to researching all tech before I win a game.

When placing environments in the map editor, if you place them underwater (on water tiles) then the sea changes to all kinds of weird colours with no way to remove them. My question is, how do you remove these strange colours and make the sea blue again?

I think the AI shouldnt do anything else but keep your country stable and in the same, progressive way one has left it. It should only really "act" when you are under attack or some other crisis occurs. At that time, it should act to protect your nation, but not change anything as how one has left it. Also, the AI should be really really really smart and strong. Because players tend to be also. And it's a bit cowardice to attack when someone is offline

I think there should be a very clear system of unit strenghts and weaknesses. It might not seem original, but I think that for a game as Society, a rock paper scissors system might be well in place. Melee-sword, Melee spear, Mounted and ranged. Melee sword would be the "all-rounder". mediocrely effictive against all. Melee spear would defeat mounted, mounted defeats ranged and ranged defeats melee spear. Except for the last combination, it pretty much makes sense. Also, flanking should

Yes, I've turned emo. How is this related to GalCiv2? Well. I'm an avarage teenage person. Discovering the ways of life, which are rather odd I have found. So I'd much rather discover the universe. Well, not only discover. To exploit, explore, expand, colonize and eventually conquer it. And I love doing that. That is why I love Galciv2. (And I will love sins of a solar empire, also ). And quite some time ago. As I was browsing this site daily as I did back then. I found an announcement. An Expan

The last Society update was since june in 2006. We, atleast I, beg you, gods of stardock, whom I honor and pray to daily, to release more on thine holy game of society, which is in thy making. For thy creations are the pwnage. There isn't really more to say. Surely something must have changed in over half a year? Surely, it is not that secret one cannot share more with thine loyal community? I call Stardock my favourite game design company. Because you make awesome games, Like GalCiv 1&

True, you shouldnt be able to see a player's reputation based on actions you don't know or haven't heard of. But the computer might calculate and remember a reputation by the actions you do know of. And if by espionage or another way you find out about certain other, not so fair dealings, the computer might recalculate the reputation with your nation or you might decrease the other player's reputation with your nation

There will be atleast 10-20 players around you all making diplomatic deals with you. If this would be done all by chat you WILL get confused. You don't have to dev out "lying" it could be a simple option when creating/accepting a diplomatic proposal. And than the system could calculate reputation based on your actions.

Yes, Great idea!. That will add great depth to the economy of the game since that will be an important aspect. It should be optional that once you have a somewhat larger economy you can create your own currency, other players would than have the option to also use yours. Which would profit them. Since it has good value, but it will profit the creator of the currency also, since it's their currency. Nice! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/Society/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 ALIGN

well it seems that what people are worried about is if everyone is gone but the guy who plays almost non stop that he will try to conquere everything in one night while no one is playing. i have an idea on how to stop this. If you attack the empire of someone who is not logged on you face massive unrest in your own empire. just imagine you attack a player who is not logged in and half of your citizenry take up arms against you Good idea there, I like that one alot. Atleast pla
