ok well again, just got back into galciv2 and really starting to appreciate it. A couple things are the source of some consternation however. Sometimes....for whatever reason...my fleets don't auto-pilot! I have to "hand-fly" them across the galaxy. Thank god I'm taking my reinitiation with the game slow and am playing a medium map. They'll (the ships) start out with a movement of (for example) 3/0 instead of 3/3 and then the process of manually moving them begins. S

Thanks for reading. I've owned the game pretty much since it's come out but just haven't been able to get into it much, even though i've wanted to. Now i'm finally coming around back into it and I could use some information. first is there a manual you can download for it. I haven't found one and I'd like to be able to understand the finer points of the game. e.g.: effect of population, approval rating, things like that. second is that I wasn't able to find *clearly*

I posted this in game talk. didn't see a support forum from the main and just noticed it after completing the original post: after a hiatus I decided to play my GC2 game again. after downloading any updates I proceeded to start a new game. galaxy was huge, all variables were random. Not long into the game the drengin's started a war with me. eventually i had lost a planet but was in no way out of the game, in fact I had just researched planetary invasion and was about to take the

after a hiatus I decided to play my GC2 game again. after downloading any updates I proceeded to start a new game. galaxy was huge, all variables were random. Not long into the game the drengin's started a war with me. eventually i had lost a planet but was in no way out of the game, in fact I had just researched planetary invasion and was about to take the planet back. for some reason my approval went to red %1 and I could not adjust it. I was in the green before making money even with my

http://www.vgmusic.com/music/computer/microsoft/windows/index-sz.html well i like the melee music but not the hyperspace. I guess for me I just love to hear the (speaking in music-type terms) systhesizer pads bathing my ears with a little filter riding up or down. I used itunes to supplement the music for dominions 2 as well when the 3 songs there got old (that station was magnatune, just to give them some recognition..also in the 'ambient

I find the music i've heard so far in galciv2 to be unappealing. others might as well so i'm posting my solution. download itunes (its free) and load up the internet radio stations. Open up 'ambient' and find a station there that suits you. Personally I strongly recommend paxahau ( i think I spelt that correct). works out wonderfully...really enhances my playing experience. I hope it does for you as well.

ok i applied some of the basic knowledge shared by y'all last night and it worked out pretty well. again a medium galaxy, 4 other opponents (instead of 6 like the time before). I don't have an completely accurate idea how well it would have worked since I found two anomalies that were sittingo n 2500 BC...but then i'm not complainin either. I control 33% of the galaxy and only have one real competitor in the altaeren's (sp?). was fun an

howdy y'all... dl'd the game this weekend and I've never sucked so hard at one of these games. I do have experience playing civ(x), Moo2, dom2, etc but i seem to not 'get it' when it comes to this game. I have been playing my first couple of games in med galaxies with all 'normal' settings. typically on home planet I build farm, factory, facrtory, research then how I see fit. tundra colonies with like 3 build zones I make all research.

hello... I just dl'd the game and enjoy it so far. I haven't played but a few hours but there are some things I'd like to have considered for future patches. - use of arrow keys (or numpad) to move map about - i'm only hearing one song so i'm guessing there wasn't much money put into music. that's ok but I'd like to 'alt-enter' the game so I can easily play my own music - there doesn't appear to be a method for adjusti
